*Obsessed* by the Hughes H-1 Racer!
Designed by Howard Hughes and Richard Palmer, it was built to be the fastest landplane in the world. It succeeded on September 13, 1935, when Hughes set a new speed record of 352 mph (567 km/h) near Santa Ana, California.

Cool Facts about the Hughes H-1 Racer:

- Innovative Design: The H-1 Racer featured advanced design elements like flush rivets and butt-joined aluminum panels to minimize drag.

- Dual Wing Configurations: It had two sets of wings—shorter ones for speed records and longer ones for transcontinental flights. In 1937, Hughes used the longer wings to set a transcontinental speed record, flying from Los Angeles to Newark in 7 hours and 28 minutes at 332 mph (535 km/h).

- Record-Breaking Performance: Not only did it set the world speed record in 1935, but it also set a transcontinental speed record in 1937, solidifying its place in aviation history.

- Historical Significance: The H-1’s advanced design influenced future aircraft, including the Lockheed Constellation and the H-4 Hercules (“Spruce Goose”).

- Preservation and Legacy: The H-1 Racer is preserved at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, a testament to its historical and technological importance.

New for Sale • 1957 Porsche 356 A T1 1600

French registration
Chassis no. 101128
Engine no. 66274
- Rare AT1 version
- Original engine “matching numbers”

This 1957 Porsche 356 is a rare A version T1 coupe 1600 by Reutter. It features a beautiful Polyantha red exterior and a beige interior. Originally sold in New York in September 1957, it later returned to Europe, specifically Italy. The current owner, the third one, acquired it in 2006. The car has its original 4-cylinder engine and a 4-speed manual transmission (type 644).

Since arriving in France in 2006, it underwent a full restoration (costing €150,000) completed in 2019 and was serviced by AS Classic Engineering. Finding a 356A T1 Coupe on the market is becoming increasingly difficult, and this example, with its elegant color combination, is a rare and valuable opportunity.

Kudos to the Abarth exhaust 💥💥💥💥
