This Mazda Bongo arrived after failing its MOT and needing structural welding work.

Instead of carrying out the smallest possible repair, we treated it as the opportunity to restore the van properly. The work included full inner and outer sill repairs on both sides, an offside rear quarter-panel repair and new genuine rear wheel arches.

Once the structure was sound, we protected the underside with fresh underseal and refinished the suspension components in matte black. The final transformation came with a pearlescent orange lower-half respray, colour-coded mirrors, spoiler and grilles, new Mazda decals, number plates and complimentary floor mats.

🔧 VEHICLE WELDER / FABRICATOR WANTED 🔧

Mazda Bongo Auto Centre | Saltney

We are looking for an experienced Vehicle Welder / Fabricator to join our busy workshop at Mazda Bongo Auto Centre in Saltney.

The role will mainly involve welding and corrosion repairs on Mazda Bongo campervans and other vehicles.

Main Duties:
MOT welding and structural vehicle repairs
Cutting out and replacing corroded metal
Sill repairs and replacement
Wheel arch repairs
Chassis and underbody welding
Fabricating repair sections where required
Preparing areas ready for welding
Grinding and finishing welded repairs
Removing and refitting components where necessary to access repair areas
Working alongside our mechanics and bodywork team
Keeping your work area clean and organised
What We're Looking For:
Previous automotive welding experience preferred
MIG welding experience
Good fabrication skills
Ability to assess corrosion and determine the appropriate repair
Good attention to detail
Able to work independently and as part of our workshop team
Mechanical knowledge would be an advantage
Reliable and takes pride in producing good-quality work

Experience working on older vehicles, restorations, campervans or MOT corrosion repairs would be particularly useful.

YARD LABOURER / WORKSHOP ASSISTANT WANTED

Mazda Bongo Auto Centre | Saltney

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Yard Labourer / Workshop Assistant to join our busy team at Mazda Bongo Auto Centre in Saltney.

This is a varied, hands-on role and would suit someone who enjoys practical work and is happy to turn their hand to different jobs around the workshop and yard.

Main Duties:
Keeping the yard, workshop areas and storage areas clean and tidy
Organising and keeping on top of our vehicle parts
Collecting paint, materials and parts from local suppliers for our workshop team
Use of a company van for work-related collections
Picking, packing and wrapping vehicle parts ready for posting
Helping organise stock and parts storage
Removing basic parts from vehicles when required, such as switches, handles and other small components
General DIY and maintenance around the premises
Painting small areas of workshop floors, walls and other areas when required
Building basic shelving and storage
Assisting the workshop team with general day-to-day tasks
Requirements:
Full UK driving licence essential
Less than 6 penalty points for company vehicle insurance purposes
Reliable, punctual and willing to work
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Basic mechanical knowledge would be preferred but is not essential
Basic DIY skills would be an advantage
Good organisational skills and willingness to keep the yard and parts areas in order

This is a varied position, so we are looking for someone who is willing to get involved and help wherever required.

VEHICLE PAINT PREPPER WANTED

Mazda Bongo Auto Centre | Saltney

We are looking for a Vehicle Paint Prepper to join our busy workshop in Saltney, working alongside our experienced vehicle painter.

Duties will include:
Preparing vehicle panels ready for painting
Masking and de-masking vehicles
Flattening and finishing paintwork
General preparation of bodywork and panels
Ensuring vehicles are prepared to a high standard before painting
Keeping the preparation and paint areas clean and organised
Working closely with our painter to maintain a high standard of finish
Machine polishing would be preferred, but is not essential
What we are looking for:

Previous experience in vehicle bodywork or paint preparation would be preferred. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has good attention to detail and can work effectively as part of a team.
