Learning to drive in a heatwave? We salute you. You’re basically doing your driving test on the surface of the sun.
Here’s how extreme heat can sneakily affect your driving — and what to do about it.

🚗💦 Sweaty palms = slippery wheel.
Bring a small towel or wear light gloves. It sounds dramatic… until you’re halfway round a roundabout.

🧠🌡️ Hot brains = slow brains.
Studies show concentration drops in high temps — especially for learners. Your brain’s working overtime already, so stay cool.

🌫️🔥 Mirages aren’t just in cartoons.
Hot roads can create visual distortions. It’s not your eyes — it’s physics. Slow down if the view looks wobbly.

🌬️🥵 Car interiors can hit 40°C+
Before you even turn the key, your car might feel like a sauna. Crack the windows. Use sunshades. Ice lolly optional (but encouraged).

📚👀 Lesson tip:
Tell your instructor if you’re feeling too hot or spaced out. It’s okay to pause. It’s about learning safely — not sweating your way to a pass.

From today, there will be more changes for learner drivers.

Only you can book or manage your car driving test. This means your driving instructor won’t be allowed to book it for you.

This means your driving instructor won’t be allowed to do this for you.
