Little job from this afternoon, a vehicle inspection on a new customer’s recently purchased car for his daughter. This is the rear brakes as they left the dealer, and they’ve damaged the driveshaft oil seal when they replaced the clutch.

Just bought a 2016 1.2 tce Nissan Qashqai to fix up and sell on, it had a timing chain issue. Judging by the state of the oil filter and the silver tinge to the engine oil, I’m pretty certain that lack of servicing was the cause. The seller said it had full service history but it was last done in 2022! Looking at the state of the air filter, I’d say it was close to killing the turbo as well! Get your car serviced on time people!!

Bonnet release cables on a Porsche Cayenne, not a 5 minute job! I had vertigo when I did this so looking up under the dash really did me in! 😵‍💫still smashed it though 👊🏻💪🏻

Battery drain on an SL55 AMG this week. After setting up for a parasitic draw test, I went round with my vs913 thermal camera to check for hotspots with the fuses and relays, I couldn’t see anything suspicious until I hovered over the glovebox. Found a faulty glovebox light switch and the lamp was staying on permanently draining the battery overnight.

VW Golf Mk7 in recently for airbag light on and auto hold handbrake fault. All modules were showing a no communication error with the airbag module. I sent the airbag module away to be repaired to a company called Northern Auto Tech in Morecambe, it came back within the week all repaired and ready to refit. I don’t think they’re on here but check them out for any similar repairs.
