Well, what an awful few months!

But, I’m back open, sort of 😂
Not at full speed as typically we’ve a holiday booked in November for Mrs GNG’s milestone birthday and an impending house move in the new year. Maybe a rebranding too 😂

Thanks to everyone for your continued support. It’s been a difficult time !

Big shoutout to my butty Evan Bebb who took the plunge and quite his job a year ago to go self employed .

His workmanship and passion for his job is second to none.
Let’s put it this way, if I have to use a garage I drive 35 miles to go here as I know it’ll be right and I don’t have to take a tub of Vaseline !!

If you need work done on your car, want it done properly and get a decent cup of coffee get your arse up to Ev .

Polo G40 085
Quaife l*d
Arps
Wilwood custom clutch setup
Motorsport end case
Final drive swap
Full main bearings/seals
Blast/bolts

Full rebuild and tweak for this little 085 box. Surprisingly, this was in decent condition internally .

With everything out and checked it was full strip/clean and blast to the casings, all bearings and gears off the shafts and built onto new pinion.
Ring gear off and bolted to the quaife, full mains and preload to case.
Funky motorsport end case, stainless inspection cover and speedo blank to finish the main build.

The wilwood clutch cylinder was originally going to be a head s watch but some mounts and a bit of machining got it to sit nicely in the case allowing some adjustment if needed.

A cracking little build and a nice finish considering there was no case coating 👍🏻

Random pic of the day……

Don’t reverse the air on an old vapour blaster to clear the pump 🤦🏼‍♂️

Expensive lesson learnt 😂😂

Blew the side of the pump out trying to clear debris. Found an m8 bolt and an 02j tower push clogged inside the bugger😖

So that’s why 3rd was a right b’stard 🤦🏼‍♂️

Even new parts can be an issue, unfortunately it took a practice day to find out that the laser welding holding on the synchro taper had failed preventing proper engagement.

It took a bit of looking to as, on the bench, it looked okay !

Another gear popped in, built up and ready to go.
( manufacturer is getting a call although I know they’ve already changed their design 👍🏻)
