🏁 SKegness Weekend Away Racing 🏁
Well… Skegness certainly gave us a weekend to remember! 😂🏁
A real mixed bag of emotions for both lads. #97 Declan and #101 Dawson absolutely drove their hearts out. They were right there in the mix and kept giving it everything, even when the karts decided they had other plans! 🤦♂️🤣
🧡 Dawson #101 was driving absolutely INSANE — the little Ginger Assassin was flying and giving it everything… until the mechanical gremlins arrived.
CHAIN: “That’ll do for me lads, I’m off.” 😂⛓️💨
🖤 Declan #97 was battling away but just had NO POWER. So naturally, we did the sensible thing…
Strip it down. 🔧
Scratch our heads. 🤔
Strip some more off. 🔧
Put it all back together.
Question every decision we've ever made. 😂
Spend HOURS trying to find the problem…
And then suddenly…
THE POWER RETURNS! 🚀
The culprit? THE CLUTCH. 🤣🤣🤣
Apparently the kart just fancied a full spa treatment before it would work properly again!
And then there was the weather… ☀️🌧️💨
We went from beautiful Skegness sunshine to what can only be described as HURRICANE SEASON in the space of a day. One minute sunglasses and blue skies, next minute tractors on track, umbrellas everywhere and enough standing water to launch a bloody boat! 😂😂
But the biggest thing I took away from the whole weekend wasn't a result, a trophy or a finishing position.
After all the frustration, all the mechanical problems, all the hours spent working on the karts and everything not quite going our way…
Not ONE tantrum from either of them.
Instead, both lads turned around and said:
“THANK YOU FOR TRYING.” ❤️
And that meant more to me than any trophy ever could.
Because that's what racing is about for us.
We might not be the fastest.
We might not always win.
Half the time we might not even know which part of the kart is going to fall out with us next. 🤣🔧
BUT WE ALWAYS KEEP TRYING.
We fix it. We get back out there. We support each other. We laugh about it afterwards and we come back ready to do it all again. 💪
Super proud of Declan #97 & Dawson #101. Two lads who never stopped trying all weekend. ❤️🧡🖤
And a massive thank you to everyone who helped, supported, got their hands dirty and kept us going.
Skegness… sunshine, sideways rain, chains, clutches, spanners and chaos. 😂
Wouldn't have it any other way.
