Educational)❌ THE PARTS CANNON FAILED. PROPER DIAGNOSTICS WON. ❌This Ford Transit came to us after another garage threw thousands of pounds at it. It would start fine, but after exactly 5 minutes of running, it began shaking violently. What the other garage replaced: Injectors, Crankshaft sensor, Camshaft sensor, Fuel regulator, Fuel rail, Fuel pressure sensor, and a brand-new EGR valve! 😲The Reality: The car was still broken because nobody actually diagnosed it.Our Investigation: We hooked it up and monitored live data. We discovered that after a few minutes of running, ECU Pin 4 completely stopped sending its required ground pulse. The Smoking Gun: We disconnected the main ECU plug and found a disaster. Pin 4 was completely burnt out, the internal circuit track on the ECU board was fried, and the male pin had actually snapped off inside the wiring harness connector, making a barely-there connection.Thermal expansion was causing the pin to completely lose contact after 5 minutes of engine heat. A new/repaired ECU and a pinned wiring harness repair, and this Transit is finally running smoothly!
