🚗💙 Perry’s had a cracking week — he’s now the proud owner of a Honda Jazz, and I got to be there to help with his decision to buy and test drove the car.
Watching a pupil choose their first car is always a class moment, but with Perry it felt extra rewarding. He’s put in steady graft from the very beginning: never rushed, never cut corners, just quietly building skill and confidence every single week.
Seeing him step into a car that suits him so well was brilliant. The Jazz is a car Perry has wanted as soon as he started our lessons. You could see straight away he felt at home in it. Even jumping in the boot to see if he could sleep in it... answer yes... yes he can 😂
It’s been a pleasure helping him get to this stage, and I’m buzzing to see him out on the road in his new wheels soon. Big step forward for him, and well deserved.

Huge congratulations to Hana for passing her driving test.

Hana has shown massive dedication from the very beginning. Every lesson she came in ready to learn, ready to improve, and with support from her family outside of lessons she’s been building her confidence and skills even faster. It’s been clear for a while that she was preparing herself properly, and today she proved it.

I am honestly so incredibly proud of you. You’ve been an absolute pleasure to teach. Every lesson full of laughs, stories, and plenty of gossip that I’ll definitely miss. Watching you grow from those early nerves into someone who can handle the road with confidence has been brilliant.

Now it’s time to enjoy that lovely BMW and get out there on your own. Stay safe, Hana, you’ve earned every bit of this and I hope you enjoy every minute of your independence.

🎉🚗 Another FIRST TIME PASS today. Massive congratulations to Perry for smashing their driving test in Livingston! 💪🔥

The amount of work Perry has put into this has been unbelievable. We’ve spent 7 days straight together getting ready, and every single session was full of effort, focus, and determination.

On top of that, Perry travelled from Edinburgh to Livingston every single day just to make this happen. That level of commitment is something special.

One thing that’s always stood out is how inquisitive Perry is, constantly messaging with questions about rules, tricky roundabouts, and specific junctions they’ve seen on the road. That curiosity has paid off massively.

I can genuinely say Perry is joining the driving world with a huge depth of knowledge across all aspects of the road and the Highway Code. An absolutely deserved pass.

So proud of you, enjoy every minute of your independence! 🌟👏

🚗✨ Yesterday was a brilliant milestone for Emma. We went out together to choose her first ever car, and it was honestly such an exciting moment.

There’s something really special about helping a pupil pick the car they’ll start their driving life in. After all the lessons, progress, laughs, and hard work, it feels like the perfect final chapter in her journey with StartRite Driving School.

Emma has been a joy to teach from start to finish, and seeing her confidence grow week by week has been amazing. Ending her journey by helping her choose the car she’ll soon be driving independently just felt right.

Her new car gets delivered next week from the dealer, and I can’t wait to see her on the roads behind the wheel of it. The freedom starts now. 🚗

🎉🚗 HUGE CONGRATS to Emma — FIRST TIME PASS in Musselburgh today! 💪🔥

Emma has absolutely grafted for this. Week after week she’s shown real commitment, taking on every bit of feedback, pushing herself, and turning challenges into progress. Watching her grow in confidence and skill has been brilliant, she’s genuinely one of those pupils who makes the job a joy.

Today she proved exactly what she’s capable of with a well‑deserved first‑time pass. I couldn’t be prouder of how far she’s come.

And the journey doesn’t stop here… Emma’s already asked me to help her find her first car, so the excitement continues! 🚗✨ It’s always special seeing a pupil go from their very first lesson to choosing the car they’ll start their driving life in.

A huge shoutout to Leo, who passed their test in Alnwick yesterday with only 2 faults. Even the dog looks proud in the photo.

Most of the learning was done privately so well done Leo's mum who has worked so hard with him. After two 6‑hour sessions together, they went on to pass in their own car.
Top effort all round.

🎉🚗 MASSIVE CONGRATS to Lewis — PASSED FIRST TIME yesterday with only 4 faults! 💪🔥

This one means a lot. Lewis was my first ever pupil when I started as a trainee, and we’ve had such a long journey together. So many lessons, so much progress, and so many laughs along the way.

And the best part? This isn’t goodbye. I’ll still be seeing Lewis regularly, just in a different seat… the barber’s chair! ✂️😂

Seeing you smash it yesterday honestly made my week. You’ve worked so hard for this and you absolutely deserved that pass.

📢 Remember that from tomorrow (31 March), you will only be able to make 2 changes to a car driving test booking.

A change counts as:
✅ changing the date or time
✅ changing the test centre
✅ swapping your appointment with another learner who has a test booked

If you need to make more changes after you have used your 2 changes, you will need to cancel your test and book a new one.
