Cruised a 68ft widebeam off the Thames and down the Wey for brokerage at Pyrford Marina earlier this week.

This is a cruise I do fairly often. When it's a big boat it is tough on more narrow and windy waterways.

Especially when the levels are down.

Although I'll take that over a fast flow.

I didn't take many videos as I was focussing too much.

But this gorgeous 2 bedroom widebeam will be on sale soon.

I ascended the Caen Hill flight recently and it was fairly busy coming down.

We passed 2 widebeams and 5 narrowboats.

It took 2.5 hours and was a gorgeous sunny day.

A well deserved glass of w**e and a bit of celebrity traitors when we stopped.

Couldn't ask for more really.

I am very much enjoying being somewhere new, although the levels are still really low and cruising is hard.

It's 10 years since my father died and there have been an absolutely amazing amount of sunsets over the last week or so....

It's 10 years since my father died and there have been an absolutely amazing amount of sunsets over the last week or so.

I have always thought that he is there looking down on me in those sunsets. Especially in the early days.

These beautiful gifts of nature are so awe-inspiring and they make me think of him.

He was a really fun, kind and good guy. He made us all laugh so much... And I miss him all the time.

Sometimes when I'm cruising down the Thames I just really really wish he could come too. He would love it so much.

Live life to the full as it can be taken away so quickly.

A little insight into my head... I couldn't believe the amount of diggers in the field at the end of my day.

It was a bit like those tents at county shows where loads fellas driving remote control diggers around. Has anyone seen those before?

Anyways... Enjoy and who's up for going to diggerland!!!

Sods law this will happen just before I head out the door for a big job.

Thank goodness I had plenty of time that morning.

Changing a gas bottle is no big deal, but it's nice not to have to leave the boat at 7am on a misty morning.

I always have a spare bottle on the boat for times just like this.

A gas bottle lasts me anywhere between 3 and 9 months depending on how much I am cooking and if I am on my boat a lot.

I think these days it's about 6 months, but it is handy to have a record so you can look back and see when you last changed it.

I thoroughly enjoyed that coffee.

Another little trip to Trowbridge charity shops ... I actually got even more than this...

The black and white tray... I love it.

I have been on the hunt for a sheepskin for years now. And I am over the moon with this one. It feels really cosy. I might even surpass the white coat.

I am so tired of people just saying.. tickover.

If your boat is too big for the space tick over is irrelevant. I often just mine into a bit of reverse to take the speed down... As it's a widebeam. And that's considerate.

If I see someone has just jumped off their boat and hasn't tied up I will also chuck it into reverse and glide past, possibly in neutral.

If I see that someone is in a weird spot, I might ask if they are okay.

Or when on I realise they aren't, you could say, oh, sorry I didn't realise.

This attitude is just really grating. Here I am, giving an hour of my time, to someone else to get a rope out of their prop. And you can't even be arsed to slow down a bit. So the w**d, that is open, and fairly close to the top isn't causing problems on the boat.

I just kept shouting it's just rude.

I wish I could go and there and teach every person manners.
