That feeling when you've been cruising the Thames for a few days and you're used to the space and how majestic it is.

You come off at Limehouse or Brentford and suddenly everything seems so small and dirty. 😂

Still love it though

People keep saying to me, oh you boat looks so nice on the internet.

Of course it does. I only take photos of the good bits and when in have tided. The reality is very different. I am constantly wanting better storage and a new brain.

One that is capable of keeping the place clean.

What did I find? Help me find this person and return this iPhone, so it can actually get used or recycled.

Please share with any local swimming groups you're in.

People always ask me is she with cats?
So long as they don't run away, she is terrified.

😂 This made me chuckle as the cat was standing her down and we couldn't get on the boat.

Also,.Google maps wanting to take me to Cat on a Boat. 😂😂😂

Henley is always a really busy cruise at the end of August and beginning or July

This time increased for the last day of the Regatta and it was fascinating.

So many boats and floating contraptions out to watch the rowers.

Great fun

This is day 10 of a 10 day move bringing a boat from Newbury to Hallingbury.

It was eventful to say the least.

We had 2 heatwaves, 1 with a amber heat warning and I had to postpone a couple of days, which then meant we got stuck behind a lock closure due to some eegit boater banging into the lock gates and lifting them out of the socket.

This boater had been arrested the day before for causing damage to other boats.

We had 1 lock closure, 1 tricky lock, 1 almost broken lock, we got through on the last trip for the day.

A lost brolly in the Thames, which as retrieved thanks to the lockie and volunteer at the lock

Cruised through Henley Regatta...

I feel I've lived and thousand lives.

But it's done the boat is safe and I am home and resting my weary bones.

Bath Spa is such a beautiful city. It's like walking around a film set. Many films and TV shows have indeed been filmed there.

Dublin is a Georgian city and so is Bath,.so although it's different in many ways, I feel at home with the architecture.

If you haven't been you should definitely visit. The Royal Crescent is truly stunning, just wondering around the street is a joy.

In lockdown it was so empty it was amazing. I love it at Christmas but after the Christmas markets are over. It's too busy when they are on. The light are beautiful, and there are some great pubs and parks.

My fave pubs are The Bell, of course, with live music, The Ram in Witcombe is climbing my chart. St James vaults is also fab.

It's great for eating out and shopping as it has everything and is smaller than bigger cities.

I don't even work for Bath... But visit if you can.

This lock on the River Wey Navigation is always a bit tricky. It's a big right angle turn and you can't see if the gates are open before you get there.

So you always have to get off and walk up to check. Which when you're on your own can be time consuming. Luckily enough on this day I was sharing with another boat, so their crew went and sorted the lock. Happy days.

I swim in the river all year round. I avoid it after heavy rain.... And I'm not religious about it or anything. But I love the peace a swim brings me. All water in general to be fair.

I've swim most christmass's and new years since I was a kid. A great Irish tradition.

Don't let the Atlantic scare you... This river in January is some of the coldest I've swam in.

Along this river there are the spots everyone goes to. And then there are a few secret spots we keep to ourselves.

What a joy it was to meet Bonnie in person after chatting online and getting to see this wonderful chandlers in East London.

Bonnie is a Marine electrician and got sick of not being able to buy everything she needed.

So she set up this chandlers, I love the vibe, the ethos and of course the logo.
Hey Bert.

The staff are super knowledgeable so pop in for a chat and see what's happening.

They are building something really special here, with wonderful events such as a boat parent social and loads more.

Follow on Insta and pop in if you're in the area, or make a special trip like me. ❤️
