New practical test booking system

As you are hopefully aware, the system of booking driving tests changes again on 12th May.
No driving instructor will be able to book or change a driving test date on your behalf & therefore you will now have to do that yourself.

As you know, since 31st March you are only able to change your driving test date/time twice once booked. From 9th June this too will change again to the area that you will be able to swap a test to.
This is the information on the .gov.uk website:-

Basingstoke
You can move your test to:
* Greenham - about 14 miles away
* Wi******er - about 17 miles away
* Reading - about 19 miles away

You can also move your test back to the test centre:
* you were booked at on 9 June 2026 (if you booked your test before then)
* where you first made your current booking (if you book a new test from 9 June 2026)

This means it is more important than ever to target a realistic date if you haven’t already got one in the system.

Things are about to become extremely challenging but I will continue to help & advise as much as possible.

Please beware of any websites offering to secure earlier tests as they are NOT official & likely to be a scam.
Only ever use the official gov.uk website- Practical tests are currently £62.

There is a 24 week window for booking practical driving tests so if you haven’t already done so, please pass your theory test & get a practical driving test booked. Monday mornings at 5.40am is the time to get in to the queue so that at 6am you are in to the site to book.
