A major milestone for Toyota manufacturing in the UK. 🌱

Toyota’s Deeside engine plant has started carbon-neutral production, becoming the first Toyota production facility outside Japan to make the transition under Toyota’s manufacturing framework.

Local waste is now being converted into biomethane and electricity for the plant, saving almost 3,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually. Aluminium recovered from end-of-life alloy wheels is also being transformed into new engine blocks.

Deeside produces the 1.8-litre hybrid and petrol engines used in the Corolla and Toyota C-HR—creating a direct connection between this milestone and vehicles driven by SCC Toyota customers.

🚐 The right commercial vehicle isn’t the same for every business.

Toyota Professional is targeting further growth across Europe – but what caught our attention is how it plans to get there: more choice, different powertrain options and a continued focus on keeping businesses moving.

The Toyota Professional range now includes battery electric options across its entire European LCV line-up, alongside Diesel 48V and diesel options on selected models. And looking further ahead, Toyota has confirmed a hydrogen fuel cell electric Hilux is planned for production in 2028.

It all supports Toyota’s multi-path approach: rather than assuming one technology works for every business, the aim is to provide the right technology for the right application.
