This week a customer said goodbye to their mini , owned since new in the 2017, how ever in the 66k miles they have covered in it , it had NEVER been serviced ,not even as much as an oil change .
Needless to say the engine has now failed and the cost of repair was unfortunately to much for the customer so it’s been sold on as a none runner .
The lesson to be learned here is that it’s very important to have your car serviced , even as much as an oil change once a year will prolong the life of your vehicle , especially now with modern engines and different grades of oil needed for “wet belts “ and “DPF soot content “ .
It doesn’t cost a lot of money to do but we see so many people these days not bothering with servicing but it is for sure one of the most important preventative maintenance procedures you can do 👍

That’s another week rounded off at Scarth Hill Garage with a few last minute jobs squeezed into yesterday.
From broken coil springs , seized callipers and discs and pads all round . All these customers turned up on the day without even having to book in and they were all completed the same day .
We aim to please customers with quick turn around at top quality work. There is no “ we can’t get you in for 3 weeks”.
We will always find time to get your motor done and back on the road 👍

This Range Rover has been with the owner for many years , until he lent it to his son to take him to the airport , his son put his foot down in sport mode and ruined his engine snapping 2 big end caps and snapping 1 con Rod.
We recovered the vehicle and replaced the engine , needless to say, one happy customer .
