North Armagh Motor Club Motorsport events and North Armagh Motor Club news Club meetings are held in Tandragee Golf Club on the second Wednesday of every month.

Originally known as North Armagh Motorcycle and Car Club Ltd, and more specifically the “car section” which was formally constituted in 1969, this club has divided to form North Armagh Motor Club Ltd, which continues the long standing and established motorsport traditions. Committee members are mostly from the Portadown / Lurgan / Armagh area, although general membership extends all over Northern

Ireland and beyond. The Club’s main interest is special stage rallying, although most forms of motorsport, including historic rallying, have been promoted. Active committee membership is encouraged and various social events are planned each year.

Hi everyone,

I would like to sincerely thank everyone who helped make this year’s Loughgall Stages Rally such a great success.

This was my first year as Clerk of the Course following the passing of W. Fullerton, who served in the role with dedication for the past 25 years. It was an honour to take on this responsibility and continue the work he cared so much about.

A huge thank you to all 91 competitors for taking part, our 120 marshals who stood out in the rain all day helping to keep the event safe, the North Armagh Motor Club Committee for all their hard work behind the scenes, all our named officials, stage teams, emergency services, timekeepers, everyone who brought their cars to the show, and all the residents along the stages for their patience and support. If I have unintentionally missed anyone, please accept my sincere thanks as well.

Events like this are only possible because of the dedication, commitment and teamwork of so many people, and I truly appreciate every contribution.

Congratulations to Jonny Greer on a great win and Sam Moffett in a close second.

I hope you all enjoyed the new stages, and I look forward to seeing you again next year.

Thank you once again.

Barry Taggart
Clerk of the Course

Spectator Safety – Loughgall Stages Rally 🚨

We want everyone to enjoy the Loughgall Stages Rally on Saturday 4th July. Let’s continue to keep safety the top priority, following guidance from Motorsport UK.

Please remember:
• Be in your safe viewing position at least 30 minutes before the first car is due on stage
• Only watch from designated spectator areas or safe locations identified by marshals
• Never risk your own safety – no photo or video is worth it
• Stand well back from the road, behind barriers, on higher ground
• Avoid prohibited areas such as escape roads & junctions
• Do not walk on the stage once it is closed
• Expect the unexpected – rally cars can behave unpredictably and conditions may have changed since yesterday
• Listen to and respect the marshals – they are there to keep you safe
• Keep children under close supervision at all times
• Leave the drone at home – drones are strictly prohibited under event and aviation safety rules

If you are moving between stages please allow plenty of time and follow all event signage and instructions.

Let’s keep safe and enjoyable for everyone 🙌

Marty Toner, with Conal McNulty alongside, will start in car one following the County Armagh driver’s first win at his local PRM & RPM Loughgall Stages Rally last year - then in a Proton Satria but now at the wheel of a Ford Fiesta R5, writes William Neill.

Heading into today Jonathan Greer and Niall Burns (Toyota Yaris Rally2) lead the Brown & Brown Northern Ireland Rally Championship by two points and will hope to stretch that advantage following experience in the park section back in 2021.

At three is Aaron McLaughlin and Darren Curran (Volkswagen Polo R5) who return to where the pair took the Brown & Brown title last year. Two wins in the park, McLaughlin is among the favourites for another victory.

Sam Moffett and Pierce O’Callaghan (Hyundai i20 R50) are at four and their vast road-stage experience could see the crew move into the Brown & Brown lead. Derek McGarrity is also among the top contenders.

Shane Murray finished fifth last year and now starts on the road ahead of Cork’s Cal McCarthy, IN-Sport’s Niall McCongile and Daniel Doherty who round out the first ten starters.

Leading two-wheel-drive runners are Jason Black in a Toyota Starlet, Barry Morris in his lightweight Darrian T90 GTR+ and a swarm of Ford Es**rt drivers, always popular with spectators, include Damian Toner, James Kennedy and Camillus Bradley.
