Check your brakes!

We replaced the front discs and pads on a ford focus due to being “metal to metal”

However the disc was seized onto the hub. After one hit with a hammer this was the outcome.

I would imagine if you were to emergency brake the outcome would be the same.

Lee is a DJ and he was running late to play his set in Aberdeen when he realised he’d done it again…

LOCKED HIMSELF OUT OF HIS CAR.

For the 4th time this year. 😂

Luckily, Lewtech Solutions got him back in using non-destructive vehicle entry, with no damage to the car and no drama — so Lee could get back on the road and make his set.

Nice easy one for a change 🤦🏼‍♂️

Ford Transit in for a noisy wheel bearing. On inspection, the bearing was rough and corrosion had started breaking down the ABS ring and throwing up dash lights.

On these, the bearing comes as a complete hub assembly, so the old unit was removed and replaced with a new one.

All fitted, ABS signal restored and back on the road ✅

Mercedes Citan – No Start & Brake Repair 🔧

We’ve been busy with this Mercedes Citan that came in as a non-starter.

The previous garage had already replaced the fuel pressure regulator and fuel filter due to low fuel pressure readings, but the customer decided to stop the diagnosis there.

After carrying out our own checks, we traced the fault to the plug on top of the in-tank fuel pump, which had burnt out. This is a very common issue on these Renault-based engines and was the cause of the low fuel pressure and no-start condition.

While the van was with us, we also sorted another issue with the brake pedal not fully returning. The moving parts had become heavily corroded, so we stripped and cleaned all the rust away to get everything moving freely again. ✅

Another one diagnosed properly and back on the road! 🚐💨

We were in Tyrie today, fitting a front and rear camera kit to a 24-plate electric Nissan.

As always, the system was fully hard-wired with no visible cables, giving a clean, professional finish. 👌

It definitely seems to be the month for dash cameras — we’ve already got another 3 booked in for this coming week!
