The timeless, serene, and

minimalist designs of Axelrod Architects evoke a sense of quiet power without being overpowering. The meticulous care given to each project is immediately apparent. Each line, surface, and volume exists to satisfy a particular need or desire on the part of the client. There are no extraneous elements, nothing in the design that has not been thought through in terms of style and function. The Axelrod design approach emphasizes the continuity of space within the parameters of the building program; each space is thematically connected to every other space. The use of free-floating architectural elements is a hallmark of Axelrod design. Visual corridors within the spatial expanse enliven the connectivity of the whole; a sense of location within the project is tangible. Axelrod Architects provides unparalleled service from conceptual design through construction. That service is based on two foundations: complete and accurate design and construction documents, as well as rigorous construction oversight. Axelrod Architects' close involvement with the contractor before and during construction pays off with fewer costly field changes and a more precisely constructed building. Irit Axelrod is the founder and principal of Axelrod Architects (Israel) and Axelrod Design (US), with offices in Tel Aviv and San Francisco. She graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in the Technion/ Israeli Institute of Technology (1993). AIA member and LEED© AP Certified.

בלב תל אביב, ברחוב שקט המוקף במבנים לשימור ובאווירה עירונית מלאת שכבות, מסתתרת דירת גן שמציעה מפלט מן העיר מבלי להתנתק ממנה.

מאחורי חזיתות הרחוב והקצב התל אביבי שבחוץ, נפתח מרחב מגורים אינטימי, עטוף בגינה ירוקה ובפלטת חומרים עמוקה, שתוכנן כבית עכשווי, מדויק ומרגיע. הדירה, ששטחה כ־300 מ”ר ונפרשת על פני שתי קומות, תוכננה ועוצבה על ידי משרד אקסלרוד אדריכלים, בהובלת האדריכלית אירית אקסלרוד, יחד עם צוות הפרויקט אורית צברי, מעין ציוני ונגה שגב. בבסיס הפרויקט עמד הרצון ליצור בית שמקיים דיאלוג עדין עם סביבתו: מצד אחד נטוע בלב העיר, ומצד שני מייצר חוויה של פרטיות, רוגע ורצף טבעי בין הרחוב, הגינה והמרחב הפנימי.

In the heart of Tel Aviv, on a quiet street surrounded by preserved historic buildings and layered urban character, lies a garden apartment that offers a true escape from the city without disconnecting from it.

Behind the street façades and the vibrant rhythm of Tel Aviv, an intimate living environment unfolds, enveloped by a lush private garden and a rich material palette. Conceived as a contemporary, refined, and calming home, the residence spans approximately 300 square meters across two levels.

The apartment was designed by Axelrod Architects, led by architect Irit Axelrod, together with the project team of Orit Tzabari, Maayan Zioni, and Noga Segev.

At the core of the project was the ambition to create a home that maintains a subtle dialogue with its surroundings deeply rooted in the heart of the city while offering a sense of privacy, tranquility, and a seamless connection between the street, the garden, and the interior living spaces.
