The Classic Retrofit workshop is back to full speed following our brief Easter break - we’re assembling and collating our first Land Rover Defender orders, with a high volume of fuse panels and CDI’s to ship.

Time flies!!

Exactly a year ago, we embarked on a dream journey to Porsche's hometown in Stuttgart, cruising in our 911 SC 🇩🇪
It was an unforgettable adventure; amazing people, incredible places, epic cars, and lifelong memories. The pictures barely do it justice.
We also got to put the SC's heat pump HVAC system to the test… and it delivered, keeping us warm from Sussex to Stuttgart.

We can’t wait to get out and drive again in 2026, see you on the road! 🏁

Nothing to see here…. apart from a Porsche 904 & two Classic Retrofit 8 Pin CDI’s⚡️

A customer called us a couple of weeks back to report an issue with their CDI boxes.

We took delivery of them, tested both, made repairs to one (free of charge), and had them back up and running in no time.

What does our new Defender A/C system have in common with the Great British cuppa ??? ☕️ 🇬🇧

“If you are cold, tea will warm you; if you are too heated, it will cool you; If you are excited, it will calm you.”*

We’re not sure about the calming bit, but the rest checks out 😂

We took a moment for a well earned tea break whilst capturing more pictures of the Land Rover Defender installation for the assembly instructions - with this session focusing on the wiring harness and the process of gassing the system.

If you’re interested in our Defender A/C system we strongly recommend checking out our Tech Forum on the CR website - where you’ll see the Land Rover install instructions.

It’s a great way to see how the kit integrates into the vehicle and get a good look at all of the component parts.

ECU R&D update!!! 🔧 💻 ⚡️

We’re are constantly improving and developing our products - even when we’re entering our busiest time of year for manufacturing and shipping products 📦

The spotlight today is on the latest iteration of our ECU. The addition of a small screen and some tell tale LED’s on the circuit board means that setting up the A/C or diagnosing issues will be a breeze - no more laptop and USB cable required!

It’s worth mentioning that the ECU will be hosted in a new clear version of the existing outer case so that the screen and lights can be easily inspected.

In the short video at the end of this post, you’ll see Jonny starting up the A/C on our Defender control unit - the screen shows the systems starting up, but quickly indicating a fault on the screen (there is no compressor connected to our bench test system) and a warning light flashes ⚠️

This will be used in future A/C systems - we’ll share more details closer to launch 🚀

We’ve got a batch of Gen 2 Blowers, Smart Compressors, and regular compressors and ECU’s being processed ready to go into stock 📦

The fulfilment team are busy packing and shipping your orders - thanks as always for your custom! 🙌

We are also working on our warehouse reorganisation - ready to accept the growing number of Land Rover Defender A/C system components ready for the imminent launch! 🚀

The third part of our Land Rover Electric A/C trilogy goes live on the 12th of February, exclusively to those on our Defender mail list.

The new in-depth video will be shared together with product, price and installation information - exclusively to subscribers. General release will follow shortly afterwards on our website and YouTube channel.
