I have sat in the cockpit today and watched couples who, when they went ashore, were moored up and private. When they return to another boat rafted on them the first reaction is, wife, hands on hips, “oh no, someone is rafted on us”, husband, well that’s marina life at this time of year dear.
Wife, I hope they won’t keep marching all over our decks all night.
Husband, well they have to go ashore dear.
Wife, gets on boat and goes below.
Husband says hello to wife on other boat, (very attractive, sun tan everywhere, sun bleached hair) and then goes below.
Wife reappears, we are leaving at 6am, to other boat.
Wife on other boat, OK.
Wife, your fenders are squeaking can you do something about it?
Wife other boat, sorry, I don’t speak English.
Wife calls husband up from below to get things sorted out and goes below, not happy.
Wife on 2nd boat calls husband up, 6 foot 4, built like a brick one. What is problem?
Husband, erhm do you think you could do something about your squeaky fenders old chap?
2nd husband, what?
Well I don’t know but my wife won’t sleep with all that noise and I will have hell to pay tomorrow.
Wife on 2nd boat, that ok, we will turn music up so she not hear.
Husband, oh ok thank you very much, I’ll let her know.
Goes below, much screaming heard, along the lines of “lily livered”, “when we get home we are selling this boat” “call yourself a man “
Boat life, love it!
