Pajalla tapahtuu, huoltoo ja serviisiä moottoreihin ympäri vuoden. Pajassa onnistuu erilaiset moottoreihin liittyvät koneistukset mm.

Eastlands Engineering on moottoreihin erikoistunut yritys jonka leipälaji on amerikkalaiset v-twin moottorit. Kokemusta on kertynyt monivuotisesta korjaustoiminnasta ja toiminnasta eri kilpatiimien mekaanikkona. kansityöt, porautukset, hoonaukset ja koneistukset. Myös hitsaustyöt kuten lohko- ja kansikorjaukset onnistuvat. Säännölliset osatoimitukset eri tukkureilta antavat mahdollisuuden tarvittaessa nopeaan palveluun.

110" engine getting the attention it deserves. Pistons landed from Parts Europe yesterday, and now it’s down to precision ring gapping.

Oil pressure problem. The steel ball located at the bottom of the pressure relief valve bore had come loose from its seat. As the oil pressure increased, the valve allowed all the pressure to bypass.

Whenever I carry out a cam chest service, I always test the pressure relief valve and its operation on the test bench and adjust the relief valve pressure to the correct specification.

Joskus moottorin vianhaku voi olla hankalaa, m***a siitä huolimatta se ei ole mitään uskonasiaa.
Päivällä otettiin Sportsteri pöydälle, koska edellisellä huollolla moottoria tutkinut asentaja oli todennut, että moottori on totaalisen hajalla.
Moottori purettiin yläkerran ja jakopään osalta. Kampiakselissa, männissä tai sylintereissä ei kuitenkaan ollut mitään huomautettavaa. Männän helmat olivat kuin uudet, mikä kertoo siitä, ettei kampikammiossa ollut ollut – eikä siellä ollut syntynyt – merkittävää epäpuhtautta.
Tässä vaiheessa olin jo hieman ymmälläni.
Lopulta käyntihäiriön syy kuitenkin löytyi.
Moottoriin oli asennettu vanhat hydrauliset nostajat, jotka olivat olleet käytössä jo edellisen moottoririkon aikana. Nostajien sisään jäänyt epäpuhtaus jumitti hydraulisen mekanismin ja aiheutti käyntihäiriön.
Ja mistä epäpuhtaus oli alun perin tullut?
Huonosti pestystä öljysäiliöstä.
Uudet nostajat, muutama tiiviste – ja taas mennään.

Moottorin vianhaku perustuu faktoihin. Ei arvauksiin eikä uskomuksiin.

144 HP / 190 Nm 💥

Raw, untamed power. No excuses. No bu****it. Just twist the throttle and let it rip.

Not bad for a “stock” bottom end.
