Made a rooftop beacon for my car using an addressable RGB LED strip. It’s controlled via WiFi (ESP32) through a web app UI.

Originally meant for car meetings and other events, but the orange work light has already been useful when repairing a friend’s car on the roadside. Visual effects are used only when parked.

Two large magnet pads hold the light on top of the car, but I might add a third one to make sure it’s not going anywhere when summer highway speeds come back.

Testing trought multible materials, see how uniformly those will brake and how well layer adhesions really are.

PLA Tough has very good layer adhesion. PETG and now this Fiberon PA612-CF15 has more uniform structure and not snap just between layers, but looks like injection mold parts.

PETG is how ever quite bridle over all and not great at high temp applications, so I believe this Fiberon might be new best material for demanding applications such and motorsports.

I've tested several different brands and types of PA-CF based materials, PPA and PPS, as well PBT are still waiting for markets to open.

Polymax PLA Tough seems to be second best option if temperature is not issue, it outruns ASA/ABS, PETG even Polycarbonate because of fact that below 10k€ printers wont have enough chamber temperature.

I use Bambulabs X1C with custom heated chamber up to 60-70°C (more would damage printer)
