🚨 CRS TO THE RESCUE! 🚨

Our lovely customer Terence from La Zenia had a bit of a problem…

His UK Mercedes A180 had just been successfully registered onto Spanish plates, but with the UK MOT expired and an airport run needed tomorrow to collect his partner, he couldn’t risk waiting around for the new plates to arrive by courier. ✈️🚗

So we dispatched our gallant driver Ricky, who delivered and fitted the plates at Terence’s home... getting him back on the road just in time! 🔧🇪🇸

Another happy customer and another successful registration completed by the CRS team. 🤝😊

🚧 15,000+ fines in just seven days - and one offence dominated 🚨

A nationwide DGT campaign at roadworks on Spain’s interurban roads checked more than 233,000 vehicles in just one week.

The result? 15,460 drivers were reported, with 13,904 fines for speeding through temporary roadworks limits... around 90% of all offences detected. ⚠️

Other offences included:

📱 Using a mobile phone
🚗 Illegal overtaking
🪢 Not wearing a seatbelt
🍷 Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
🚧 Ignoring temporary signs or instructions from road workers

It is worth clarifying that most drivers checked were not speeding. However, speeding accounted for around nine out of every ten fines issued.

Temporary limits are not optional. Road workers may be operating just metres away from passing traffic, often with reduced lanes and little protection.

Slow down, follow the temporary signs and give roadside workers the space they need. 🙏

💔🔥 Los Gallardos / Bédar Wildfire Update
🕦 Updated: Monday 13 July, 11:30

There is further positive news this morning from the Los Gallardos / Bédar wildfire, although this remains a deeply sad and difficult time for everyone affected.

🚒 The wildfire remains stabilised, and the latest operational update says the perimeter did not grow overnight. Fire activity is now reported to be very low, with remaining hotspots mainly within already burned areas between Bédar and Lubrín and around Los Castaños.

🌿 The affected area remains approximately 7,000 hectares. Fire crews are continuing to extinguish hotspots, consolidate the perimeter and monitor the area carefully before the fire can be declared fully controlled.

✅ There are currently no new evacuations, road closures or warnings of renewed spread in the latest update.

🚒 The active firefighting deployment has now been reduced to around 40 personnel, which is another sign of progress. However, emergency teams remain on site and the fire is not yet extinguished.

🏛️ Pedro Sánchez is also visiting the affected area today as local councils prepare to coordinate damage reports and recovery support.

⚠️ Please continue to take care in affected areas:

✅ Follow Guardia Civil, INFOCA, 112 Andalucía and town hall instructions.
✅ Do not enter restricted or fire-damaged areas.
✅ Keep roads clear for emergency and recovery vehicles.
✅ Be careful around smoke, ash, unstable ground, damaged trees and debris.
✅ Check on vulnerable neighbours, friends and family where it is safe to do so.

🙏 Our thoughts remain with the families and friends of those who have lost their lives, those who have been injured, those still waiting for news of loved ones, and everyone whose homes, land, animals or livelihoods have been affected.

We also continue to recognise the extraordinary work of INFOCA, 112 Andalucía, Guardia Civil, Policía Local, firefighters, UME, medical teams, volunteers, town halls and everyone supporting the affected communities.

This morning’s news is encouraging, but recovery will take time. Please stay safe and continue following official updates. ❤️

💔🔥 Los Gallardos / Bédar Wildfire Update
🕞 Updated: Sunday 12 July, 15:30

There is more welcome progress this afternoon, although this remains an incredibly sad and difficult situation for everyone affected by the devastating wildfire around Los Gallardos, Bédar, Lubrín, Antas and surrounding areas.

🌿 The Junta de Andalucía has confirmed that the wildfire is now stabilised. This means the fire is perimetered and contained within its established boundaries, but it does not mean it is fully controlled or extinguished.

The affected area is estimated at around 7,000 hectares, with a perimeter of approximately 40 kilometres.

✅ Authorities say there is no current danger of the fire spreading beyond its established perimeter. This is a very positive step, but emergency teams are still working to consolidate the perimeter, extinguish hotspots and prevent reactivations.

🚒 Around 90 INFOCA firefighters remain deployed to continue this work. The UME will also remain deployed for as long as necessary, after playing a major role in the emergency response.

🏡 Around 1,000 residents who were still evacuated are now being allowed to return home gradually, following instructions from the authorities. This follows the earlier return of more than 600 people to areas including Los Castaños, Almocáizar, Alfaix and Camping Los Gallardos, and the lifting of the confinement order in Lubrín.

📍 In Antas, residents from affected areas including Los Raimundos, El Pilarico and Cabezo María have also been advised that they may return, but with caution due to poor air quality. Residents should keep roads clear, remain alert and continue following official instructions.

⚠️ Even though this is a positive step, anyone returning home should do so carefully and only via authorised routes. Please do not enter restricted areas, rural tracks or fire-affected zones unless emergency services have confirmed it is safe.

🙏 Our thoughts remain very much with the families and friends of those who have lost their lives, those who have been injured, those still waiting for news of loved ones, and everyone who has been forced to leave their homes, animals and belongings behind.

🚒 We also want to recognise the extraordinary work of INFOCA, 112 Andalucía, Guardia Civil, Policía Local, firefighters, UME, medical teams, volunteers, town halls and everyone supporting displaced residents.

🚨 Please continue to follow official advice:

✅ Return only when authorised.
✅ Keep roads clear for emergency vehicles.
✅ Do not use rural tracks or back roads.
✅ Take care in areas with smoke or poor air quality.
✅ Keep children, elderly people, pets and anyone with breathing problems away from smoke.
✅ Watch for official updates from 112 Andalucía, INFOCA, Guardia Civil, Policía Local and your town hall.

💔 This has been a heartbreaking few days for Almería. Today’s update brings some relief, but the emergency teams still have work ahead, and many families and communities will be dealing with the impact of this tragedy for a long time.

Stay safe. ❤️

🚗👀 NEW CARS MUST NOW WATCH WHERE DRIVERS ARE LOOKING 📹⚠️

From 7 July 2026, all newly registered cars and vans in the EU must include an advanced driver distraction warning system.

In most vehicles, this uses a small infrared camera to monitor where the driver is looking. If the driver looks away from the road for too long, the car will issue a visual, audible or vibrating warning. 🚨🔊

Despite some dramatic headlines, the system is not supposed to:

❌ Identify the driver
❌ Record video
❌ Send personal data to third parties

The information should be processed inside the vehicle and deleted immediately. 🔒

The requirement only applies to new vehicles. Existing cars do not need to be modified or retrofitted. ✅

These systems are designed to reduce accidents caused by mobile phones, screens and other distractions. 📱💥

Would you feel safer knowing your car was monitoring your attention, or would you find it intrusive? 🤔👁️

🚨 ANTAS OFFICE CLOSED TODAY – FRIDAY 10 JULY 🚨

Due to the serious wildfire affecting Los Gallardos, Bédar and the surrounding area, our Antas office will remain closed today.

The A-7 has reopened following its overnight closure, but the N-340A remains closed near the affected area. Several communities are still evacuated, and a major emergency operation remains underway involving INFOCA, the emergency services and the UME.

Please avoid the affected area, do not attempt to use unofficial routes or shortcuts, and follow all instructions issued by the emergency services. Road conditions and closures may change at short notice.

Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by this terrible fire, particularly the families and friends of those who have lost their lives.

Please stay safe and take care of one another. ❤️

For emergencies, call 112.

Our other offices and communication channels remain available, although there may be some delays today.

The latest reported road position is that the A-7 has reopened, while the N-340A remains closed around kilometre 511.
