On behalf of IAA MOBILITY last month in Munich, I spoke with the man many people in motorsport will tell you is THE smartest F1 driver - now active in driving change…

🏁 Sebastian Vettel won four Formula One World Drivers’ Championship titles, which he won consecutively from 2010 to 2013 with Red Bull, and remains the youngest-ever World Drivers’ Champion - he won 53 Grands Prix across 16 seasons…

In this clip Seb talks about sustainable fuels with me - and makes a very important distinction as to where they are a solution…and where they are not!

And there’s more to come from our conversation…public transport (which he sometimes used to get to a race), cycling (ditto), and the importance of circularity when it comes to the himan carbon footprint!

Wowzers! - to be amongst the Longbow line up of Advisory Board Members...

Mike Flewitt (ex-CEO of McLaren Automotive Ltd), Michael van der Sande (ex-CEO of Alpine and Jaguar SVO), and Dan Balmer (ex-President & CEO of Lotus Cars Europe). Collective experience in luxury and electric vehicle manufacturing that’s second to none!

🕺 Today I’m honoured to update my LinkedIn profile in joining them.

And to see such an ambition evolve amidst the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune that seemingly surround us all these days - particularly in and around a rapidly changing global automotive industry. That’s the BIG attraction for me!

For every reason such a venture should not be feasible - the founders Jenny Keisu, Daniel Davey, and Mark Tapscott have found a reason why it should.

I truly love their collective vision, will, and ex*****on.

EVidence for all to see - to be precise an invited audience of investors, customers, and partners - will gather in London at the end of the month for a landmark moment for the brand.

And will I be sharing with YOU what that shows in terms of progress since filming with Daniel & Mark earlier this year? - YOU bet I will!

Reciting Khalil Gibran’s ‘FEAR’ at London’s Natural History Museum ‘Earth Hall’…

To a combined audience of Team Benchmark Mineral Intelligence - and the most complete Stegosaurus fossil skeleton found in Europe!

However, there’s absolutely nothing ‘dinosaur’ about the profile of Benchmark’s global team of experts - it’s almost 50/50 Male/Female - something I commented on as a guest speaker earlier on in the day at the The Royal Institution

And then…Chairman Simon Moores asked me to preface their annual ‘Skyfall Awards’ with a message of sorts - so I chose a poem:-

Fear - by Khalil Gibran

It is said that before entering the sea
a river trembles with fear.
She looks back at the path she has traveled,
from the peaks of the mountains,
the long winding road crossing forests and villages.
And in front of her,
she sees an ocean so vast,
that to enter
there seems nothing more than to disappear forever.
But there is no other way.
The river can not go back.
Nobody can go back.
To go back is impossible in existence.
The river needs to take the risk
of entering the ocean
because only then will fear disappear,
because that’s where the river will know
it’s not about disappearing into the ocean,
but of becoming the ocean.

Striving to overcome fear will liberate you with so much in your life. Taking risks, showing initiative, and just like we ALL used to do as kids…just ‘having a go’ at opportunity as it presents.

That message was threaded through the AGM so I hope the poem re-emphasised that!

And I commend the notion to YOU too!
