Thursday the 26th of august 2021.
Country nr 6 🇷🇸 Serbia.

After we wandered around in Belgrade it was time to visit our friend Petar , his wife and their son the little boss!
I met Petar and his wife in 2017 when they came driving down from Belgrade, Serbia to Amsterdam, The Netherlands with their modified Civic EG turbo!
Right after visiting the Netherlands, Petar started his own welding shop which turned into one of the better and well known welding shops in Serbia!
And in addition to that he also got a son. You can imagine with those major factors in life, making the trip to The Netherlands isnt that simple anymore. So meeting him and his family in the shop that he started was a really good vibe.
Though the EG was standing in the corner collecting dust. I will never forget this car as a motivator for taking a modified/turbocharged car on roadtrips. Recharged with energy(drink) and a positive state of mind we left Petar and his family and headed for a long drive into the night.

Wednesday the 25th of august 2021.
Country nr 5 🇷🇴 Romania

The night fell and we havent reached our destination. We drove further into countryside and mountains where the roads got really bad, or sometimes there wasnt even a road. The streetlights faded away just like our phone signal but that didnt stop us going to our destination.
Next up we had to take a exit to a rough road full of rocks and mud. It really got eerie when we looked out of the windows and saw graves on both sides. Yup we were driving through a cemetery.
After 2km and 45mins driving we got to the campsite only to find out that the gate was closed. Well then we would set up camp in the wild and we also wanted to BBQ. But then we saw glistening eyes in the dark. First one and later we were surrounded by a whole pack of young foxes. It was all fun and games but we also realised that if all these puppy's their parents wouldn't be far away. And if we were going to BBQ we would definitely cause more foxes to come. So we had to drive the whole 45min 2km ride again downhill. Well atleast we've seen some wildlife. 🤣
There we were driving in the night in a lowered turbo Civic on semi slick tyres. Left to the elements of the Romanian wilderness looking for a place to spend the night.

Country nr 5 🇷🇴 Romania

We arrived at the Hungarian/Romanian border also known as the gate of the Balkan country's. At that moment it was the first time we really had a feeling that we were far away from home. Actually it felt like that we arrived in a dashcam movie.
After driving in the countryside for a while we had to drive through the city of TimiÅŸoara. Again we had to adapt to this new environment and a new way of driving. There are rules on the road but they dont really work... people just drive and its the survival of the fittest. Most people from civilised country's would become crazy of the chaos. But to us driving here was so much fun even though the roads really gave my suspension a hard time.

Tuesday august 24
Hungary, Budapest

After we were done with the river cruise over the Donau river we seen something that we havent seen for a long time;
People partying to live music, enjoying life and not worrying about any facemasks or distances.
As we approached the boat (where the party was at), we got our QR codes ready. But when we got to the bouncer they didn't ask for it and there was no entry fee either.

Just a free party on a boat with a great vibe, view and tasty mojitos at a affordable price.

When the party came to a end, the organisation handed out flyers with the adress of the next party...

Shiit that was another wicked adventure!

We took a taxi to a uknown destination far from the city center. As we arrived at our location it was clear to us this wasnt the kind of Budapest we seen earlier. Surrounded by soviet buildings(Panelház how Hungarians call them) and empty streets we felt lost. Fortunately we met up with other Dutchies and we made our way to the party together.
There we arrived at the headquarters of . A place where you can go completely catered to DJs and people who want to be a DJ. The music, the setting, the vibe it was all magical!
Especially after 1.5 years of not being able to go to any party this was such a magical moment. Eventually I couldnt get my feet off the dancefloor and went home around 8am. F**k yeah Budapest!

Budapest, Hungary

The next morning we got up and started to explore the city by daylight. It became clear that Budapest was also a nice place during daylight. All the gigantic palaces made us really feel small. Later that night we decided to do some touristy stuff. Usually we arent really into the tourist things but this was such a nice place that we wanted to see it from the water aswell.

Monday, August 23rd
Country 4: Hungary-Budapest

After cruising around we arrived at out airbnb. Here we unloaded a lot of our luggage and took the roofrack off. This improved the handling so much that I wanted to do another cruise. Not taking it slow these times.
The empty wide streets of Budapest were just to inviting to not push the gas pedal just a little bit more. I felt like a 16 year old again playing Need For Speed. But this time it was for real!

We filled up the tank and off we went to our next destination. But before we would get there we needed to drive through Austria. After driving for a while on B roads in the countryside we saw some interesting cars. Out of nowhere we found a exotic car dealership .
Pulling up in the parking lot with a ghetto ass car, four shabby and wasted looking guys get out. That gave us some looks from the people who worked there. But when they saw we were just enthousiast they let us alone.
A few minutes after we got moving again there was this Porsche pulling up on us. I decided to suprise him a little bit in our packed car. So far Austria became more then just a country to pass through.

Another stop we made in Austria was to meet our friends from last year . Last year they showed up with their daily. But this year they brought out their streetmachines!

Both cars were rhd and mainly setup for track racing. While the Impreza already had a impressive list of engine mods the Mirage(JDM C**t) was still stock.
But the Mirage isnt your average C**t. It has a 175hp 1.6L engine with MIVEC, which is Mitsubishi's answer to VTEC.
