You drive over white lines every day… but are you reading them correctly?
Misreading a road marking can cost you dearly: accident, fine, or worse.

🚗 DON'T KNOW WHERE TO START WHEN STARTING A MANUAL CAR? THESE 4 STEPS WILL HELP!

Starting a manual car seems simple… until you're behind the wheel, stressed, with an instructor next to you 😅

Here are the 4 key steps for a smooth, stress-free start 👇

🦶 STEP 1: PRESS THE CLUTCH AND BRAKE
➜ Left foot → press the clutch pedal ALL THE WAY DOWN
➜ Right foot → press the brake pedal
➜ The car is now secured and ready to start

⚠️ Some modern cars require the clutch to be pressed before the engine will start (safety feature).

🔄 STEP 2: CHECK NEUTRAL
➜ Before starting, make sure the gear lever is in neutral (N)
➜ To check: move the lever side to side – it should move freely left and right
➜ If the lever is stuck, a gear is engaged → shift to neutral before starting

🧠 Starting with a gear engaged = the car lurches forward. Danger guaranteed!

🔑 STEP 3: TURN THE KEY (OR PRESS START)
➜ Insert the key and turn it to the "IGNITION" position (dashboard lights come on)
➜ Wait 1-2 seconds for the lights to go off (except those that stay on)
➜ Turn the key fully to START the engine
➜ Release the key as soon as the engine runs

⚠️ Don't hold the key too long – you could damage the starter motor.

⚙️ STEP 4: ENGAGE 1ST GEAR (AFTER STARTING)
➜ Once the engine is running, keep the clutch pressed down
➜ Shift into 1st gear (top left, unless you're reversing → reverse gear)

➜ The car will begin to move forward

🛢️ THE 2-MINUTE CHECK THAT COULD SAVE YOUR ENGINE (AND YOUR WALLET)

Do you know how to check your car's oil level?

If your answer is "no" or "not really"… this post is for you. 👇

Oil is the lifeblood of your engine. Without it, your engine overheats, wears out, and can even seize completely – a repair that costs hundreds of thousands of FCFA.

The good news? Checking your oil level takes less than 2 minutes.

🟢 SAFE (Normal Level)
➜ Oil is between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks on the dipstick
➜ The engine is well lubricated and protected
➜ All good – you can drive with peace of mind

🟠 LOW (Add Oil Soon)
➜ Oil is approaching the "MIN" mark
➜ Plan to add oil in the next few days
➜ Don't wait too long – the level can drop quickly

➜ STOP – don't wait another second

✅ HOW TO CHECK OIL IN 3 SIMPLE STEPS

2. PULL OUT THE DIPSTICK AND WIPE IT

🚗 VOUS NE SAVEZ JAMAIS PAR OÙ COMMENCER POUR DÉMARRER ? CES 4 ÉTAPES VONT VOUS AIDER !

Démarrer une voiture manuelle, ça semble simple… jusqu'à ce qu'on soit derrière le volant, stressé, avec un moniteur à côté 😅

Voici les 4 étapes clés pour un démarrage en toute sérénité 👇

🦶 ÉTAPE 1 : APPUYER SUR L'EMBRAYAGE ET LE FREIN
➜ Pied gauche → enfoncez la pé**le d'embrayage À FOND
➜ Pied droit → enfoncez la pé**le de frein
➜ La voiture est ainsi immobilisée et prête à démarrer

⚠️ Certaines voitures modernes exigent d'enfoncer l'embrayage pour que le moteur démarre (sécurité).

🔄 ÉTAPE 2 : VÉRIFIER LE POINT MORT
➜ Avant de démarrer, assurez-vous que le levier de vitesse est au point mort (N)
➜ Pour vérifier : faites un mouvement latéral avec le levier → il doit bouger librement à droite et à gauche
➜ Si le levier est bloqué, c'est qu'une vitesse est engagée → passez au point mort avant de démarrer

🧠 Démarrer avec une vitesse engagée = la voiture bondit en avant. Danger garanti !

🔑 ÉTAPE 3 : TOURNER LA CLÉ (OU APPUYER SUR START)
➜ Insérez la clé et tournez-la vers la position "CONTACT" (les voyants du tableau de bord s'allument)
➜ Attendez 1-2 secondes que les voyants s'éteignent (sauf ceux qui restent allumés)
➜ Tournez la clé complètement pour DÉMARRER le moteur
➜ Relâchez la clé dès que le moteur tourne

⚠️ Ne tournez pas la clé trop longtemps – vous risquez d'endommager le démarreur.

⚙️ ÉTAPE 4 : PASSER EN 1ère VITESSE (APRÈS DÉMARRAGE)
➜ Une fois le moteur démarré, embrayage toujours enfoncé
➜ Passez la 1ère vitesse (en haut à gauche, sauf si vous reculez → marche arrière)
➜ Relâchez doucement l'embrayage tout en appuyant légèrement sur l'accélérateur
➜ La voiture commence à avancer

🧠 Le point de patinage est le moment où l'embrayage "mord" – sentez-le pour un départ tout en douceur.

❌ Démarrer avec une vitesse engagée → la voiture bondit
❌ Lâcher l'embrayage trop vite → la voiture cale
❌ Oublier de vérifier le point mort

Beaucoup de conducteurs pensent bien tenir leur volant… mais la plupart utilisent encore des techniques dépassées, voire dangereuses.

🎯 AU CENTRE : LA PRISE RECOMMANDÉE – 9h/3h
Position : Mains à gauche et à droite du volant (comme 9h et 3h sur une horloge)

Pourquoi c'est la meilleure :

✅ Contrôle équilibré – vous avez la même force des deux côtés

✅ Sécurité de l'airbag – vos bras ne seront pas projetés sur votre visage en cas de choc

✅ Direction fluide – vous pouvez tourner à gauche ou à droite sans lâcher le volant

👉 À adopter ABSOLUMENT sur les véhicules modernes.
