Timo Habermann shines, Jndia Erbacher, Marck Harteveld and Jimmy Ålund also leaders after the first day of qualifying for The Main Event

Top Methanol driver Timo Habermann was the star of the show at the first day of qualifying for The Main Event, the opening round of the 2026 FIA European Drag Racing Championship. The driver from Germany made his comeback after a 6-year break to storm to a stunning 5.19 seconds to claim the provisional number one qualifying position in Top Methanol. In Top Fuel Jndia Erbacher claimed the number one spot, while in Pro Modified and Pro Stock Marck Harteveld and Jimmy Ålund are the provisional leaders after the first day of qualifying for The Main Event.

This was the very first backdate on the base of a 964 we ever built. The one that started it all.
It’s already passed the Swiss MFK inspection twice – and after more than 20,000 flawless kilometers, it’s back home again.

We developed and tested so many details of our backdate concept on this exact car:
The hand-braided Italian leather interior.
The custom Erbacher emblem, originally made by a goldsmith.
Our first engine setup – a 3.9L flat-six with individual throttle bodies, still running strong - now 4.3L

It’s not just a piece of our history – it’s also a foundation of every Erbacher backdate since.
Still powerful. Still beautiful. Still ready to be driven.

Erbacher Performance No. 6. Progress update ⚙️
Finished in the iconic Porsche GT Silver.

Our Performance build features the complete Erbacher carbon package with full carbon front fenders, a performance front bumper with large oil cooler opening and a full carbon front luggage lid, all engineered in-house and homologated for Swiss road approval.

At the rear, this build is equipped with our Performance Ducktail. Depending on customer preference, we offer multiple engine lid configurations including closed lid, deployable version or Turbo wide lid, all manufactured in carbon and delivered with DTC certification. The bespoke carbon rear bumper is also individually developed and fully approved for road use in Switzerland.

The widened body sections are deliberately executed in sheet steel. From an engineering and safety perspective, this solution ensures optimal structural integrity and avoids transition issues between composite and metal panels.

Inside, the lightweight felt carpet reflects our consistent lightweight philosophy while remaining highly practical and easy to maintain. The bespoke interior is trimmed in an Alcantara and leather mix with subtle red stitching accents running across the handbrake, dashboard, steering wheel and door panels, creating a refined yet motorsport inspired atmosphere.

As with all our Performance models, this car will receive the signature 4.3L engine by .ch delivering the purest air cooled flat six experience possible.

We don’t cut any expenses when it comes to engineering air cooled engines ⚙️

From casting and forging our own cylinders to developing optimised cylinder heads and advanced surface coatings, every component of the 4.3L engine is engineered from the ground up together with .ch ⚙️
Material analysis, bespoke alloys, improved fin design and enhanced thermal stability, all play a crucial role in achieving maximum durability and performance under extreme conditions.

The result is an air cooled flat six engine that combines traditional Porsche engineering with modern manufacturing technology, delivering outstanding reliability, thermal strength and pure driving emotion 🏁

This is how the cylinders and cylinder heads for our 4.3 L air cooled engine are made ⚙️🔥
Developed together with our partner .ch

Starting from a steel casting die, the raw components are cast, reheated, and forged to achieve maximum strength and an optimal material structure.
Special focus is placed on cylinder bore grain flow and overall stability to ensure durability under extreme conditions.

Every cylinder is forged, heat treated, and machined to its final dimensions.
All components are engineered, developed, and manufactured in Switzerland with absolute precision and pure passion.

We will talk more about the engine in the next videos.

And of course with improved audio quality. It was loud in the foundry, but Lothar still managed it perfectly 👌🏽

Our Pistachio Green Erbacher Performance build ⚙️

This air cooled beauty receives our full performance build with a large brake system including ABS, traction control and ESP, with a clear focus on lightweight construction. This is exactly what defines the Erbacher Performance.

Interior details include an Alcantara headliner, carbon door panels and dashboard trim, Recaro Pole Position seats in a combination of Alcantara and leather, and our Erbacher instruments.

Power comes from the signature 4.3 litre .ch engine, developed together with .ch which is currently in final preparation. The car is now being completed as a rolling chassis before the upcoming engine and gearbox marriage.

Lightweight construction remains a key focus throughout, from the thin sound insulation on the underbody to the carbon bonnet, carbon rear wing, carbon fenders and bumpers, all tested and approved in Switzerland.

A road legal performance car, built for precise driving on track and pure enjoyment on the road 🏁
