Little peak into our recent trip to California: the gates of Arden Villa, Pasadena, which is the location of what was the HQ of the Foundation for Law and Government. Unfortunately, we weren't able to get in and see the actual villa, but the gate area was also shown in several Knight Rider episodes.
Next, the Marconi Automotive Museum in Irvine with the KITT hero car of the first two seasons. Unfortunately, the original beautiful dashboard is long gone, as the car was transformed to a blind drive car for season three, as production decided to build a new hero car for season 3&4 with the modernized 1-TV dashboard. You can still see the welded skid plate under the engine as well as the mounting bits for the camera car tow bar. Look at the trunk release cable in the rear, also known to be a specific item of the screen used KITTs.
The General Lee is not a screen used car, but built by the same team for promotional use. It is however, signed by the cast on the trunklid.
There are many more cool cars in the Marconi Museum I'll show you in a later post. Thanks a lot to the museum team for the warm welcome and chats. I definitely recommend you to go check it out.

After 11 years our Range Rover Evoque went blind on the right eye. It was time to change the xenon light bulb. For good measure I changed both at once and am keeping the good old one for whenever I need a temporary fix.

Time for some exhaust sound comparison between my Walker muffler and tailpipes (2.25") VS my new AP EXHAUST () muffler and tailpipes (2.5"). The rest of the exhaust system has stayed the same (stock).
To be honest it's not sounding a whole lot different on video. I probably should have filmed both sequences in equal places and camera positions, but life is what happens when you're making plans. In real life the new exhaust actually is sounding much better. Not so much at idle but clearly when accelerating. I should have blown out the cobwebs a bit stronger.😎

My KITT usually has the front marker lights set up.as marker lights only, not combined with blinkers as intended from factory. Legally, they are only allowed to be blinkers. Watch parts 1, 3 - 4 to discover the rest.

Today was Porsche day. I've been helping out my brother in-law sorting out several issues on his wife's 2002 986 Boxster S. He got it for a steal, but soon figured out the gift was poisoned. It's not a bad car, but it's been showing one problem after the other.
It's a pretty good project car, but that's not what he needs it to be. It needs to run flawlessly and I'm confident we're gonna get there very soon.

We changed the coolant temperature sensor, then tried to replace crank position sensor but failed due to access blocked by coolant hoses (we'll tackle that soon), then changed the rear discs and pads, but soon realized we got the wrong pads, so had to reinstall the old pads for the time being.

To make matters worse the ignition key wouldn't come out as soon as we parked the car in my garage and stayed on accessory all day. Hooked up the CTEK charger for the day. When we were 'finished', my brother in-law drove the car home and he then managed to release the key from the ignition. I went over and sprayed the ignition cylinder with silicone oil. I hope this fixed it... to be continued...
