CAA Manitoba

CAA Manitoba CAA Manitoba is an affiliate of the Canadian Automobile Association (CAA), which has more than 5 million Members coast to coast to coast in a federation of all Canadian provincial and regional not–for–profit clubs.

CAA Manitoba can trace its origins to the creation of the Winnipeg Auto Club in 1904, the first club of its kind in Canada. The organization later evolved into the Manitoba Motor League, becoming an integral part of motoring history in the province - from developing the first road map, to marking highways, to implementing road safety programs. The MML was renamed CAA Manitoba in 1993. Today CAA Manitoba represents close to 200,000 members in Manitoba and Nunavut and has expanded beyond emergency road service to include a full service travel agency, home and property insurance, travel products and automotive services. CAA Manitoba is actively engaged in advocating on behalf of Manitoba motorists at all levels of government, on issues ranging from road safety and highway infrastructure to the rights of drivers and travellers.

While CAA is a much appreciated organization, please note that the service that is advertised is not always what you will receive....."it's in the fine print". For example CAA highlights their battery purchase and installation service as a major attraction for signing up as a member. "CAA Battery Service is convenient, fast, affordable and a popular benefit of being a CAA Manitoba Member." However if your common (not even specialty) vehicle battery is not in stock at the time that you need it, you will not receive the advertised member price for battery purchase and installation. At most, CAA will tow you to a garage of your choice where you will pay for the battery and installation. CAA will not make up the difference between the CAA advertised member price and the price that you paid at the garage. Not convenient, not fast, not affordable and not what you are led to believe your membership granted you. "It's in the fine print" Be Aware. Thank you.
Took ACM travel insurance out through CAA 12 months ago. The trip got cancelled due to Covid. Applied for my refund 10 months ago. I am still waiting. All ACM will say is “As the appeals process is the last step in the claims process, there has been additional attention being brought to your claim.” But they refuse to issue the cheque. I do not recommend ACM Insurance or CAA Travel Insurance. Claim #xx434.
Is CAA still doing passport photos?
I’d like to take a moment to thank the good people at CAA for helping me out. A string of unusual circumstances that started with a thief trying to steal my motorcycle and damaging it, leading to an insurance repair at a dealership... and a long delay at the dealership for the repairs led to circumstances where I was stranded when trying to retrieve my vehicle because of a snowstorm. Through no fault of my own the circumstances left me completely stranded. CAA came through for me and did not leave me stranded with my motorcycle after a snowstorm and got my vehicle home for me. Thank you CAA.
CAA Insurance ...I recently made a claim for hail damage at my cottage ....my experience was totally unsatisfactory. In 2020 I made a claim for my fascia on my cottage . Even though CAA admits there is hail damage to the Fascia they are unwilling to pay for the damage as there was a previous claim I made in 2018. The claim was denied in 2018 for manufacturer defect . I chose to let it go back in 2018 as the damage was not that severe which was a huge mistake. I should have had my own expert assess the damage to my fascia in 2018. CAA and probably other insurance companies use this previous claim to leverage there way out of paying for damage on the current claim. They fully admit there is damage to my fascia due hail damage in 2020 but chose not to pay for the repair . I feel frustrated and my trust has been broken with CAA insurance. Beware... fight or challenge any claim that you feel is unfair it might come back to haunt you. Marc Shirley

A huge shout out for great customer service above and beyond this past week! Especially thank you to Claudette on the call line.
I want to say thank you CAA for providing free road side assistance/towing to health care workers!!! You made a very crappy situation seem a little better! The person I spoke to on the phone at CAA at 4 pm was very pleasant & helpful!! Thank you!!!!
Your online tracking system should be removed. it just upsets me. Estimated arrival still says 10:09, no update. It’s now 10:55.
Just as Covid 19 hit CAA failed me when I needed them most. I recieved a letter from them just as my home insurance was about to expire advising that my home insurance was being jacked up by 11%!!!! They claimed that the increase was due to cost of living increases, but COL last year was only 2.2%. They claimed to have a "team" that would contact me but I never recieved a call. After numerous calls and emails I ended up paying the full amount to prevent non insurance on my home. Make no mistake CAA only cares about your money, and NOT about you, despite thier advertising claims. Shame on CAA for taking advantage of vulnerable people during a dangerous time.
