Yesterday in Barrhaven was a great day!

My first stop gave me the chance to catch up with one of my regular clients and talk some great hockey. Wishing him all the best as he heads into his second season of Junior B in Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League! 🏒

My second stop was something a little different—I had the opportunity to sanitize an impressive K9 bite suit. It’s always exciting to see the wide variety of equipment we can help keep clean, sanitized, and fresh.

I want to take a moment to acknowledge the families who have been affected by the flooding following the Canada Day storm.

I grew up in Ottawa’s west end and spent much of my life there before starting my own family in the east end. More recently, I’ve been back in the area providing services to help salvage items that could be saved.

Seeing the aftermath firsthand and hearing the stories of the families impacted has been heartbreaking. Having experienced property damage myself on a much smaller scale, I know how overwhelming it can be to navigate insurance, cleanup, paperwork, and the emotional weight of it all. I can’t imagine the magnitude of what so many are facing right now.

I also want to express my sincere gratitude to every first responder, volunteer, neighbour, community organization, business, and individual who has stepped up to help. Whether you’ve been pumping out basements, delivering supplies, donating your time, offering a shoulder to lean on, or simply checking in on someone—you are making a difference.

Moments like these are a reminder that community isn’t just a place we live—it’s the people who show up for one another when it matters most.

To everyone affected, my heart is with you. I hope each day brings a little more progress, a little more relief, and the support you need as you move forward.
