🛻 **CAR OF THE DAY: HAVE WE FINALLY COME TO OUR SENSES?**
We just talked about **$80,000 minivans.**
We've got pickup trucks pushing six figures.
Touchscreens the size of televisions.
Heated this. Cooled that. Cameras, computers and enough electronics to launch a small satellite.
And then somebody apparently said:
**“What if we just made… a TRUCK?” 😂**
Meet the **Slate Truck.**
And yes — **it's real.**
🇺🇸 Starting price: **$24,950 USD**
⚡ Fully electric
🔋 Estimated **205-mile / 330-km range**
🛻 **1,550-lb payload**
💪 Up to **2,000-lb towing**
🪟 Manual crank windows
📺 **NO giant touchscreen**
🎵 A stereo isn't even standard
🔧 Designed with simpler repairs and DIY in mind
🧩 Add the accessories YOU actually want later
You can even convert the little bu**er from a two-seat pickup into a **five-seat SUV.**
Slate says first deliveries are expected to begin in **late 2026**, although it's still a pre-production vehicle and specs can change.
And THAT'S what interests us.
Not necessarily because it's electric.
Not because it's fancy.
**Because it isn't.**
For years we've watched vehicles become bigger, heavier, more complicated and WAY more expensive.
Maybe there's still a market for the person who just wants:
**Four wheels.
A box.
A heater.
A steering wheel.
And a payment that doesn't require a second job. 😂**
Unfortunately, Canadians, put your wallets away for now. 🇨🇦
Slate currently says it **doesn't have plans to sell it in Canada.**
But we HOPE this idea catches on.
Because whether it's gas, hybrid or electric, we'd love to see manufacturers remember that there's still room in the world for a **small, affordable, uncomplicated work truck.**
👇 **WOULD YOU BUY ONE?** If this makes it to Canada what do you think our pricing will looks like? I don't' think we see this...
And more importantly:
**What would YOUR perfect basic truck have — and what modern crap would you happily leave OFF it?**
**THE TRANSMISSION WAREHOUSE**
Sometimes less really might be more.
