Today, we remember and bow our heads on the 350th Shaheedi Diwas of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji

Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji (1621–1675) was the ninth Guru of Sikhism, remembered as the DHARAM DI CHADAR (“Protector of RELIGION”) for his supreme sacrifice to defend religious freedom.

Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji gave the ultimate sacrifice in 1675 when he stood against forced conversions under the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.

He defended the rights of Kashmiri Pandits and, more broadly, the right of every individual to practice their own faith.

He was beheaded in Chandni Chowk, Delhi, and is remembered as a martyr for freedom, justice, and human rights.
