🚛💨 Don’t Forget About Your Turbo!

Can you spot the difference?
————————————————————————
In this case the turbo shaft broke in half causing the turbine wheel to fly off and come out the exhaust. 😱

Your diesel’s turbocharger works hard to give you the power and efficiency you expect—but it needs some attention too!

A properly maintained turbo helps your engine:
🔧 Maintain proper boost and power
⛽ Run efficiently
🌡️ Manage exhaust temperatures
🛠️ Avoid expensive repairs caused by neglect

Dirty air filters, restricted intake systems, oil issues, excessive soot, and worn components can all put extra stress on your turbo. Catching problems early can save you from a much bigger repair down the road.

If you notice loss of power, excessive smoke, unusual turbo noises, poor fuel economy, or a check engine light, don’t ignore it!

❄️ WINTER IS COMING — IS YOUR BATTERY READY? 🔋

Cold weather is tough on your vehicle’s battery. As temperatures drop, a battery that seems perfectly fine in the summer can suddenly struggle to start your vehicle.

Before winter hits, it’s a good idea to have your battery checked for:

🔋 Battery health & cranking power
🔌 Charging system performance
⚡ Battery terminals and connections
🧊 Signs of corrosion or damage

A weak battery can leave you stranded on the coldest morning of the year — usually when you need your truck the most!

Don’t wait for the first -30°C morning to find out your battery is on its last legs. Get it checked now and head into winter with confidence. 🥶🚛

📞 Give Twin Diesel a call and let us help get your vehicle winter-ready!

Did you know your vehicle has a cabin air filter? Did you know your cabin air filter could be the reason your A/C isn’t performing like it should? 🌬️❄️

A dirty, clogged cabin air filter restricts airflow, making your air conditioning work harder while reducing the amount of cool air coming through your vents. It can also trap dust, pollen, dirt, and even create musty odors inside your vehicle.

Before assuming your A/C needs expensive repairs, start with the basics:
✅ Check your cabin air filter.
✅ Replace it if it’s dirty or plugged.
✅ Enjoy better airflow and cleaner air in your vehicle.

It’s a simple, inexpensive maintenance item that can make a big difference in your comfort—especially during the hot summer months.

🚗 Buying a Used Vehicle? Don’t Skip the Pre-Purchase Inspection! 🔍

Did you know that you have the right to have a used vehicle inspected by a mechanic of your choice before you buy it?

A vehicle might look spotless on the outside, but hidden mechanical issues can turn your “great deal” into an expensive headache.

A pre-purchase inspection can help identify:
✅ Engine or transmission problems
✅ Suspension and steering issues
✅ Brake wear and safety concerns
✅ Fluid leaks
✅ Previous accident damage or poor repairs
✅ Upcoming maintenance that could cost you thousands

Spending a little money on an inspection before you buy can save you from major repair bills later.

At Twin Diesel Inc., we provide thorough pre-purchase inspections so you can make an informed decision with confidence. Whether it’s a diesel truck, gas vehicle, or SUV, we’ll give you an honest assessment of its condition before you sign on the dotted line.

🚨 DEF in Your Fuel Tank? Stop Right There! 🚨

It might seem like an easy mistake at the pump, but putting DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) into your diesel fuel tank can cause serious damage.

Here’s why:

❌ DEF is not a fuel additive.
❌ It’s made of 32.5% urea and 67.5% deionized water.
❌ DEF can crystallize, leaving behind hard deposits that clog fuel filters, lines, injectors, and fuel rails.
❌ The lack of lubrication can quickly damage the high-pressure fuel pump.
❌ Metal components can begin to corrode, spreading contamination throughout the system.
❌ If the engine is started, contaminated fuel is circulated everywhere, often turning a simple tank drain into a full fuel system replacement costing thousands of dollars.

💰 What starts as a simple mistake can quickly turn into a repair bill worth thousands of dollars.

If you’ve accidentally added DEF to your fuel tank:
🔹 Do NOT start the engine.
🔹 Have the vehicle towed to a repair shop as soon as possible.
🔹 The sooner it’s addressed, the better the chances of minimizing damage.

At Twin Diesel, we’ve seen firsthand how costly this mistake can be. If it happens, give us a call—we’ll get your fuel system cleaned out and inspected before more damage is done.

A few extra seconds at the pump can save you thousands in repairs. Stay safe and double-check before you fill!

⛽ What’s Worse: Diesel in a Gas Engine or Gas in a Diesel Engine? 🤔

The short answer? Gas in a diesel engine is usually much worse.

Here’s why:

🔧 Diesel in a Gas Engine
Diesel fuel doesn’t ignite the same way gasoline does, so your engine will likely run rough, misfire, smoke, or stall. It’s definitely not good, but if it’s caught early and the fuel system is cleaned out, major damage can often be avoided.

💥 Gas in a Diesel Engine
This is where things get expensive. Diesel fuel lubricates critical components like the high-pressure fuel pump and injectors. Gasoline doesn’t provide that lubrication, which can cause these parts to wear out or fail very quickly. In modern diesel engines, a simple misfueling can turn into a repair bill worth thousands of dollars.

🚨 If you accidentally put the wrong fuel in your vehicle:
❌ Don’t start the engine.
📞 Have it towed.
🔧 Let a professional drain and flush the fuel system before any damage is done.

A few seconds at the pump can save you thousands in repairs!

Have questions about your fuel system or think you may have filled up with the wrong fuel? Give Twin Diesel a call—we’re here to help keep you on the road.

🔧 Wheel Alignments Done Right 🔧

At Twin Diesel Inc., we take wheel alignments seriously. Proper alignment is about more than just keeping your steering wheel straight — it helps improve tire life, fuel economy, handling, and overall vehicle safety.

When your vehicle comes into our shop for an alignment, we:
• Inspect steering and suspension components
• Check tire condition and pressures
• Measure caster, camber, and toe angles using precision alignment equipment
• Adjust everything back to manufacturer specifications
• Road test when needed to ensure everything feels right

Signs you may need an alignment:
✔ Vehicle pulling to one side
✔ Uneven tire wear
✔ Crooked steering wheel
✔ Poor handling or wandering on the highway

Whether it’s your daily driver, work truck, or diesel pickup, we make sure your vehicle leaves tracking straight and driving properly.

Book your alignment before uneven tire wear turns into expensive tire replacement.
