This Saturday, June 13, 2026, Thompson Motorsports will be at the Touch A Truck event hosted by the Kinsmen Club of Lindsay!

Come check out Ethan’s race car up close, and meet him in person. It’s a great family event with lots of vehicles and equipment on display for everyone to enjoy. Other race teams that will be there are Let'r Run Racing and Vandy Motorsports

Now that we have the first race day of the season under our belt, we want to give a huge shoutout to Scott Shaw from Think Path Racing. Scott worked tirelessly all off-season to get this beast of a car built, prepared, and ready to hit the track this year.

We wanted to wait for the right moment to recognize all of the hard work that went into this car, and after seeing the results from our first race night, it felt like the perfect time. It also included a nice heat win.

The support at the track (in person or over the phone) has been incredible, and we truly couldn’t do this without the people behind the scenes. A big thank you to Scott, Alex, and everyone else who lent a hand along the way. The countless hours, late nights, and dedication do not go unnoticed, and we are so grateful for everything you’ve done to help make this season possible.

What a great way to kick off the 2026 season!

Ethan’s night started with a decent first practice. The team made some adjustments before the second practice, and the car picked up speed right away. Ethan was much happier with how it was handling.

In Heat 1, Ethan started on the pole and never looked back, leading all 8 laps to capture his first-ever heat race win at Peterborough Speedway!

For Heat 2, he started third on the inside of the second row and drove his way to a strong second-place finish.

The team continued making changes before the feature, and Ethan once again started on the pole. A caution on lap 2 moved him to the outside of the front row for the restart, but he battled hard and held onto fourth place for 14 laps. Another caution on lap 16 of 20 put him on the outside of the second row against a very competitive field and he started to see a small problem after that last restart. Unfortunately, once you’re stuck on the outside lane, it’s tough to gain ground, and Ethan brought the car home in 7th. There really wasn’t anything he could have done differently.

Overall, it was an amazing start to the 2026 season. We still have some work to do as we continue learning the new car and motor package, but the speed is there and the potential is exciting.

The entire team is proud of Ethan and the effort he put in all night long. It was also Fan Appreciation Night, and he enjoyed spending time with so many fans, signing autographs, taking photos, and making connections that make racing so special.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support us. A big thank you goes out to Jacob, Doug, Sean and Gracelynn for all your help tonight. Also a bonus thanks to Jacob for being on the headset with Ethan as he probably wouldn’t have done so good with his mother on there with him lol. We can’t wait to get back on track! 🏁🏎️

We’re hoping the rain stays away so we can get all the racing action in today! Unfortunately, we already had to cancel the first race of the season, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed for better weather.

Tonight is Double Toonie Night presented by Pepsi, making it a great night to bring the family out to the track!

It’s also Fan Appreciation Night, so be sure to come out, enjoy the racing, and stop by to see Ethan and his brand new car for the season. Your support means the world, and we’d love to see everyone at the track for a great night of racing!
