Hi all
Havent posted anything in a long while so id like to put something down thats been bugging me for awhile .
Old cars ………. Love em hate em ….meh ………. You struggle to keep them going , is it worth it ?
Memories smells sounds .
Old tech ,old style some good some bad .
Worse yet you have one you “love” but you have little to no skills to repair or maintain it .
Maybe you think you have the skills etc and make some questionable repairs 🤫.
Price point !
Parts too much labour too much ,choosing lesser quality over better ?
How long to keep it ?
Forever car ?
I guess what im trying to say is if your going to commit make sure your ready to go all in or you may be disappointed.
Plan carefully , be prepared for things to go wrong .
Make smart choices
Ask for opinions ,” experts” “friends” strangers at car shows .
Its amazing how candid complete strangers are .

By the way
This can apply to a boring everyday used vehicle too 😆.
Please feel free to comment in a constructive way .

So many changes over the years with Chrysler , now Stellantis .
In my life Peugeot Mitsubishi Jeep Eagle Mercedes Fiat ....lose Plymouth Ram becomes the official truck Name .
Third generation hemi cvt, 8 and 9 speed transmissions hybrids ......
Crazy fast Challenger and 4 dr Charger.......

So i think ive always loved working on cars!!
Actually this is a pic taken for a news story about encouraging people to switch to new plates for 1968 in Alberta .
I guess people were slow to do so it was news worthy.
My Dad Peter worked for the Edmonton Journal and they needed a child to volunteer to be a good example........ this is an out take pic ,note my moms Chevy Corvair in the background 🙄.......

So neighbour Troy bought this 52 Ford and another one a year or two ago , had the greatest pleasure getting the old Flathead V8 up and running , Converted to 12v neg ground reversed the guages and put in a voltage limiter for a mid sixties Ford .
Did some metal and brake work and general checkover .
Kind of a ratrod but thats the draw right , lives down in Victoria now .

Her is another interesting job a new stereo and backup camera for Jill G’s motorhome .

Heres a lovely old car i have had the pleasure of working on and off for the past year or so .
Its a 39 Chrylser business coupe .....so cool 😎. New king pins never done them before ,carburetor fuel lines bushings shocks etc .....
