Our IS38 turbo fl**ge adapter was designed in house by Sam with optimal flow in mind, helping eliminate as much lag as possible from this massive turbo upgrade compared to the OEM 1.4T turbo.

We’re currently gauging interest to see if this is a product you’d consider purchasing before we move into full production runs. With estimates of over 300whp on this setup using the factory forged block, we believe this could become the ultimate budget friendly turbo upgrade for anyone looking to push more power out of their 1.4T engine.

With the Patina Rabbit making solid progress, let us know what kind of power numbers you think we’ll achieve with our custom downpipe and tune!

Some serious progress is being made on our Patina Rabbit big turbo swapped 1.4T project!

While Gabriel has been setting the car up for the 1.4T swap ECU wiring harness, P-O has been hard at work in the engine bay. With the final touches now completed on the body harness after the fire with everything freshly rewrapped in new loom, he moved on to the smaller finishing details including adding a brake switch sensor directly onto the master cylinder.

We’ll soon begin releasing full how-to guide videos on our YouTube channel documenting everything you need to know to make this swap go as smoothly as possible with little to no surprises along the way. Now’s the perfect time to let us know if there’s anything you’d like to see covered in more detail!

Gabriel’s 370Z is officially entering its third year of drifting!

Over the past few weeks, the car received a partial refresh with new bumpers, fenders, and carbon skin doors to cover up most of its battle scars and get it ready for another season of abuse.

One thing that didn’t need any attention was our engine and differential mounts. Backed by our limited lifetime warranty, our Delrin mounts are built to handle years of abuse and are designed to be the last mounts you’ll ever need to buy for your car.

With more and more DIY quick change kits being developed in-house for fabricators who don’t want to spend thousands on complete subframe setups, plus expensive shipping costs, we figured it was the perfect time to start a new video series showing you just how simple our kits are to install.

All of our kits are designed around an OEM mounting point, eliminating the need for custom jigs. The E8X/E9X kit uses only five mandatory plates, keeping the install as simple, clean, and efficient as possible.

This is only the beginning! Stay tuned for more DIY Quick Change install videos coming soon to our YouTube channel.

Day twenty and twenty-one of the 5,000 mile 1.4T swap road trip adventure!

This marks the final stretch of the road trip. After stopping in Philly to visit Esher and catch up, Fred made his way to Vermont where the MK1 will stay until we sort out all the import paperwork.

After 20 days on the road and thousands of miles behind the wheel, Fred finally gets to sleep in his own bed again! Even though the trip is over, the projects definitely aren’t slowing down. Between the Patina Rabbit big turbo build, the track-spec 135i and nonstop machine work to keep up with your orders, the shop is just as busy as ever.

Now we want to hear from you. What was your favorite part of the trip? Where should the next adventure take us? What project are you most excited to see next?

Thank you to everyone who followed along on this crazy 5,000+ mile journey!

Day nineteen of the 5,000 mile 1.4T swap road trip adventure.

After stopping by American & Import Auto Repair to track down the issue, Fred managed to make it all the way to West Virginia without any further problems. The cause of the throttle issue is still unknown but after a round of troubleshooting including unplugging the TPS sensor to verify voltage and ground the problem seemingly disappeared allowing the truck to run smoothly for the rest of the drive.

Back on the road again for another five hour stretch, Fred took the opportunity to stop by Philly and catch up with an old friend, Esher. With the finish line finally in sight, he’s getting close to home and looking forward to getting back to work on his beloved machines.

Day eighteen of the 5,000 mile 1.4T swap road trip adventure part two.

After swapping out the engine bay fuel filter, the issue still persisted. Fred headed back into and borrowed a scanner to check if the ECU had any CELs stored. To our surprise, code P1609 popped up. After a quick Google search it seemed like the ECU thought the car had been in a crash which could’ve been causing the issue.

Unable to clear the code with an OBD11 tool and even after a hard reset, Fred headed over to “American & Import Auto Repair” to see if they had a VCDS on hand. Luckily they did but even after clearing the CELs, the issue still remained. At that point, Fred booked a hotel to spend the night and figure out the next steps.

Hopping back in the car and getting ready to head toward the hotel, the car randomly decided to fix itself. With throttle response back, Fred decided to hit the road again in hopes of making it home without any more issues.

Do you think any other hiccups will arise? Do you know what could’ve caused this problem? Let us know!

Day eighteen of the 5,000 mile 1.4T swap road trip adventure part one.

Back in Tennessee after a quick stop in Helen, Fred went ahead and swapped out some fuel lines and added an inline fuel filter before hitting the road again after the car had stalled 3 or 4 times the previous day on uphill drives.

While under the car, Fred realized one of the fuel lines was badly damaged alongside another leaking line that could’ve caused a catastrophic failure if it hadn’t been caught in time.

As soon as the lines were swapped out and the filter installed, Fred got back on the road heading toward Philly… but the car had other plans. The car suddenly had no throttle response, as soon as he feathered the throttle, it stalled out.

After limping it all the way to an , Fred started diagnosing the issue. At first glance, he believed the engine bay fuel filter had clogged up from debris coming from the damaged hose. Swapping the filter was easy, but the question is: was that the issue or is there something deeper going on?

Find out in part two.

Day seventeen of the 5,000 mile 1.4T swap road trip adventure!

After rolling into Helen last Tuesday, Fred finally took a moment to slow down and enjoy the experience before jumping back on the road again. A couple days later, it was time to point the MK1 toward Philly after an unforgettable stop at AVF.

From the incredible builds to the amazing people, AVF was one of those events that reminds you exactly why this community is so special. The timing couldn’t have worked out better for Fred to experience it all during this wild cross-country journey. Did you spot your car, yourself or someone you know in this reel? Let us know in the comments!

Stay tuned for the rest of the trip… spoiler alert: Fred made it home safe but not without a few unexpected challenges.

For the past few weeks, Fred has been on the road making the journey back from California with his newly acquired MK1 pickup.

On April 26th, Fred and Gabriel flew out to and began a 5-day swap challenge to turn this rolling shell pickup into a properly functioning vehicle capable of driving over 5,000 miles back home. After running into multiple surprises including body harness wiring issues and a donor engine harness that had been cut apart at the junkyard, they were still able to get the pickup running and road-ready with the help of the TST crew!

On May 3rd, Gabriel was dropped off at LAX to head back to work at the shop while Fred continued the journey home solo. We’ve been posting daily videos whenever possible to document the trip and show everyone just how solid this swap setup really is!

Is a 1.4T swap something you’d put in your own MK1?
