I caught the 7:45 ferry from Riviere du loup across the St Lawrence to St. Simeon, about a 75 minute
crossing, and rode the north side of the river on hwy 138 all the way to Quebec City. The day started off overcast but soon became sunny and warm. Stopped for lunch at Ste-Anne-de-Beaupre, with its fabulous cathedral, and across the river from my favorite place -Isle d’orlean. Heavy traffic from Quebec to Montreal. Noticeably smoggy after the fresh, pure air of the Magdeleine islands. Highway 15 south was a parking lot as far as you could see, as it is the last day of the annual 2 week construction holiday in Quebec, and thousands of vacationers are returning to the City from the Laurentians. Glad I was travelling Northbound. I arrived back at Paul’s place near Mt. Tremblant about 5:30, concluding my most enjoyable tour of Acadia.
