E55 oil pan going back together... organization and cleanliness is key!

This beautiful black W210 E55 is in the shop for a few minor repairs, primarily an oil leak from the upper oil pan. This was recently repaired, but I suspect the workmanship lacked attention to detail, as evidenced by the excess sealant.

It will soon be ready for summer driving 🌞

This 2013 E350 Bluetec came in for an oil leak diagnosis. We quickly identified the oil fill cap as the source. This straightforward repair was easily addressed at minimal expense.

Furthermore, we cleaned the oil pan to facilitate future leak assessments and ensure only necessary repairs are recommended.

A complimentary front-end inspection revealed worn front rotors requiring replacement, which was communicated to the customer.

A Personal Project:

Restoring my 1985 Mercedes 300TD, a European import, after it sat for 12 years in a West Vancouver carport. It needed a lot of work. The brakes were completely seized, and every suspension bushing and boot had rotted out. There was plenty of deferred maintenance to tackle as well.

I started with major components: a new radiator, coolant reservoir, water pump, and a citric acid flush of the cooling system. I adjusted the valve and injector pump timing, rebuilt the injectors, replaced the oil cooler and hoses, installed new engine mounts, and swapped out the oil pan.

For the braking system, I upgraded the front brakes to Series 2 W126 components, which include vented rotors and larger calipers. In the rear, I replaced the calipers, pads, rotors, and the parking brake cable.

During the process, the 722.3 transmission's B2 band failed, leading to a full transmission rebuild and reseal.

On the suspension side, the SLS (Self-Leveling Suspension) system was overhauled with new fluid, a filter, gaskets, and O-rings. I installed Bilstein HD shocks in the front and replaced both upper and lower control arm bushings and ball joints.

This list isn’t exhaustive—I'm sure I'm forgetting a few things—but the car is now a reliable daily driver and an absolute pleasure to operate

This beautiful 2017 GLC43 AMG recently visited the shop for its scheduled B service, comprising an oil change utilizing Mobil1 European-spec oil, replacement cabin air filters, a brake fluid flush, and comprehensive inspection.

The customer reported squealing brakes, which upon examination, revealed worn-out front and rear brake pads and a front rotor nearing its wear limit. We replaced all compromised components, resolving the customer's concern.
