Ford F-150 Raptor. Same piston speed. Different piston position. Different damping force.

This is FOX Internal Bypass technology in action.

On the shock dynamometer, we can clearly see how the damper’s resistance changes depending on the piston’s position within the stroke—even when the piston velocity remains exactly the same.

The internal bypass zones provide softer damping around the normal ride position for comfort and progressively increase resistance toward the ends of the stroke for greater control and bottom-out protection.

That is true position-sensitive damping—and you can see it directly on the dyno graph.
