If you drive a foreign-registered vehicle in Spain, you may be able to take it to an ITV station for a voluntary inspection.

It is an inspection that you choose to have carried out in Spain. It can be useful if, for example, you simply want to check the condition and roadworthiness of your vehicle, even when you are not required to undergo a Spanish periodic ITV.

A voluntary ITV in Spain does NOT replace the mandatory periodic technical inspection required under the legislation of the vehicleโs country of registration.
๐ฌ๐ง For example, if your vehicle is registered in the UK, the inspection requirements applicable to that vehicle remain those established under UK rules. Having a voluntary inspection carried out in Spain does not automatically replace the inspection required in the UK.
