Kia's PV5 electric van was first introduced as a concept at last year's CES and the production version has now been released, looking very similar to the concept model. Available in Passenger and Cargo versions, the van features a sturdy design with plastic body cladding, chunky side mirrors, and a large charging port cover. The van has high-mounted LED daytime running lights that also serve as turn signals. The main headlights are located lower, next to the charging port. A front-facing camera is located below the Kia logo, and a noticeable radar sensor is found below the license plate. The Cargo variant has twin side-opening tailgate doors, while the Passenger model has a single lift-up tailgate door.
Although the interior images have not yet been shared, it is known that the PV5 will have separate screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment system. Both versions will include sturdy grab handles in the A-pillars and a spacious design for the Passenger model. Kia intends to provide more options for the electric van to suit various business and personal needs.
The midsize PV5 is built specifically as an electric vehicle, distinguishing it from the Carnival model. It belongs to a larger category called "Platform Beyond Vehicle" (PBV), which may expand to include an electric pickup truck, as a conceptual truck was shown at the 2024 CES. The official reveal for the PV5 is set for February 24 during the 2025 Kia EV Day in Tarragona, Spain, with full technical specifications to be released three days later.
