This D-Max came in for a Stage 1 ECU tune and transmission tune, with the aim of getting more out of it without turning it into something silly.

The result is roughly 20% more power and torque, much sharper throttle response, stronger mid-range pull and a transmission that works with the extra torque instead of fighting it.

The trans calibration has been tidied up for smoother, smarter shifts, better gear holding and improved towing and highway drivability.

The big win is how much better it feels in the real world. More effortless to drive, stronger when you need it and with the potential for better fuel economy when you’re not leaning on the loud pedal.

Another Hilux sorted by DCA 🔧💨

This one came in for the full treatment with a Stage 1 ECU tune, hard-cut limiter, turbo-back exhaust upgrade and a transmission tune to get the driveline behaving the way it should.

The transmission calibration has been adjusted to improve shift behaviour and, importantly, hold top gear properly at 100 km/h instead of constantly wanting to hunt or drop back unnecessarily.

End result:

* Stronger power and torque
* Sharper throttle response
* Better towing and highway drivability
* Improved fuel economy potential
* Improved transmission shift strategy
* Hard-cut limiter
* Freer-flowing turbo-back exhaust

A much nicer Hilux to drive on the road, tow with, and live with every day.

We fitted:
