Here is a multiple-choice question for you, Piper!

What would you prefer?

a) Getting elbowed in the throat and thrown into a goal post by a ruckwoman twice your size.

b) A drive test

c) Going to the pub for your footy club’s mad Monday

Hmmm…

It’s a tough one I know 😂

You know exactly what’s going on out there and exactly how to deal with it.

And you showed your tester just that for 23 minutes, 18 seconds and 8.76km’s on Friday afternoon.

In particular, your gap selection is spot on 🙌

Congratulations - you did it !!!

👏👏👏👏👏👏

Now, back to what we were talking about before…

I was thinking, just for fun, you could try answering your multiple question again on Tuesday morning 🤣

Meeting and helping you was a lot of fun and so very rewarding, Piper. And your sense of humour and your genuine nature are second to none 🙌

Stay safe and all the best.

Thanks for driving with Dazza!

It’s not often one loses a mark before even getting to the tester’s desk!

Fortunately, you didn’t lose that mark though Siobhan!

We had to take that mark off Michael Jordan (your tester) for calling out:

“Drive test for See-ob-han!”

Close…not but really. 🤣

That certainly made all three of us laugh and from that point on you realized your tester was just a normal bloke with a friendly nature and a great sense of humor 👌

And to help you feel even more at ease he kindly (some would say coincidentally) he chose a test route that took us through your local shopping center 😁

To say your Drive test was performed in a competent manner would be an understatement.

✅ Solid lane changes

✅ Concise gap selection

✅ A1 positioning

✅ Excellent awareness

✅ A levelheaded and a well considered approach

Congratulations, you really did make it look incredibly easy !!!

👏👏👏👏👏👏

I’m very grateful our paths crossed and certainly don’t take for granted your trusting me to help you, Siobhan.

What a terrific young lady you are.

Stay safe out there.

Thanks for driving with Dazza!

PS: You’re probably right - that bloke driving around whilst wearing a set of horns deserves a cookie (not a Critical Error) 😂

Expected drive test difficulty level: 7/10

Realized drive test difficulty level: 1/10

😎 😎 😎

Yep, you found it to be ridiculously simple and ridiculously easy (just like you were always going to), Riley.

And of course you did, mate!

Why?

Because you knew what you were doing before our first lesson (just like pretty much all of you guys do) and you got stuck into your drive test preparation practice list after our lesson (just like most of you guys do).

A superbly controlled drive by you at Pakenham East Vic Roads this morning with well considered decision making featuring heavily from beginning to end 🙌

The standout though?

Actually, there were two…

✅ Those perfectly structured, perfectly judged and seamless lane changes of yours.

✅ You choosing not to act on the fact that you can do 4km/h over the limit for 4 seconds on your drive test and get away with it* (very wise, Riley 🤣).

Congratulations, superstar !!!

👏👏👏👏👏👏

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to meet and help a quality young adult like yourself.

Did not feel like I was actually working one little bit!

Stay safe and all the best, mate.

Thanks for driving with Dazza!

I’d like to think we had you well prepared, George.

✅ We had everything covered in terms of the drive test criteria, what to expect and how to do it.

✅ We did a couple of things that genuinely helped you with the inevitable pre test nerves.

✅ We even had pre drive checks perfected…

But then something unexpected happened…

We hadn’t talked about this and I certainly didn’t have you prepared for it…

What was that unexpected thing?

Mid drive checks!!!

*** We are about halfway through the drive test ***

Saraleecheesecake (tester): “How are you feeling - are you breathing?”

Me (to myself): “We didn’t cover this during lesson time. Will George give the right answer to her tester’s question?”

George: “Yes, I am.”

Phew!

Good answer George - Saraleecheesecake has threatened to take a mark off people for not breathing before! 😂

No troubles for you whatsoever at Pakenham East Vic Road yesterday morning 👌

✅ Safe

✅ Legal

✅ Way beyond drive test standard

Congratulation!!!

👏👏👏👏👏👏

Good on you for putting the work into your drive test preparation practice list - that effort sure did pay off for you 🙌

All the best with achieving an ATAR staring with an eight - no doubt you’ve got that covered too, George.

Stay safe.

And that’s that, Owen!

You got your P’s!🕺

And you got them so easily too, mate.

✅ Your awareness is right up there with the best

✅ Your positioning was excellent

✅ Your gap selection was confident and concise

✅ Your lane changes were methodical and well structured.

Congratulations on a very nice drive at Pakenham East Vic roads yesterday afternoon !!!

👏👏👏👏👏👏

Realized drive test difficulty level: 2/10 😎 😎 😎

We probably should mention the one Critical Error given out during your drive though, Owen.

That CE wasn’t yours though (you didn’t even come close to getting one of those!).

We all agreed that cyclist deserved a CE for those ridiculous socks he was wearing (probably a bit lucky he didn’t get one for his top too) 🤣

Stay safe out there.

What a pleasure it was meeting and helping one of nature’s gentlemen.

*** Zakk has just nailed his drive test ***

Me: “You did it, mate! Now that’s is done what are your thoughts?

Zakk: “So easy!”

Me: “Out of 10 how difficult would you say it was, Zakk?”

Zakk: “Two - it was nothing!”

Me: “How difficult were you expecting it to be do you reckon?”

Zakk: “I thought it would be the hardest thing to do in my whole life !!

😂😂😂

You certainly made light work of it at Pakenham East Vic Roads yesterday afternoon, mate 🙌

Here are three special mentions from your efforts:

✅ You used turning lanes like you owned them 😎

✅ Your super confident lane changes 😎

✅ Your ability to fill your little sister with shock and awe as her big brother drove past her in his drive test 🤣

Congratulations to you, Zakk!

Enjoy your freedom whilst cruising around in that cool yellow Commodore of yours.

Thanks for the laughs and thanks for being a ripper student, Zakk.

I enjoyed every moment of helping you, mate.

Good news, Mia!!!

You don’t need your dad to drive you around anymore so you can start charging him for haircuts! 😁😂

Expected drive test difficulty level: 7/10

Realized drive test difficulty level: 3/10

😎 😎 😎

There’s no doubt you know what you are doing out there, Mia.

Your super smooth drive at Pakenham East Vic Roads this morning certainly confirmed that!

Your excellent awareness and your well structured lane changes are two examples of the above.

But the standout example of you knowing what you are doing out there?

Me: “If you were to pass a roadworks 40 km/h sign during your drive test today and you accidentally got up to 41 km/h for just one second what would happen?”

You: “Not good.”

Very true, Mia!! 😆

Thanks for being such a pleasure to help.

Both your sense of humour and your ability to quickly take in lesson learnings are just terrific!

Stay safe out there and all the best with the remainder of your hairdressing apprenticeship.

Most of us view a high pressure situation as something to “not muck up”.

As a result, this may negatively add to the sense of occasion by increasing the nervousness levels which in turn cloud the thought process which will often lead to rushed decision making.

Not you though, Cooper!

You look at high pressure situations as an opportunity to do your best.

The way you handle your role as a Premier League opening batsman is one example of this and your innings of 121 runs (so good!) confirms that 🙌

And your drive test today was no different, mate.

You were calm, confident, happy and more than ready to make the most of your 9:30am opportunity at Pakenham East Vic Roads this morning 😎

✅ Rock solid lane changes

✅ Perfect gap selection

✅ A1 awareness

And the list goes on…

Congratulations legend, you absolutely aced it !!!

👏👏👏👏👏👏

On to more serious things now though…

Cooper, and please be honest (your tester can’t fail you now for disagreeing with him 😆), was your Reverse Parallel Park car white or pearl white?

What a ripping bloke you are, mate.

That mindset of yours will undoubtedly open many doors for you as the years go on.

Stay safe.

Thanks for driving with Dazza!

*** We are just about finished up with the pre test paperwork ***

Tester: “If you could just sign here please, Ian.”

Ian: *Obliges*

Me: “Ian, did you read that mate?”

Ian: “No, I didn’t!”

Me: “You just gave your tester your car!”

Tester (with a cheeky grin): “Actually, this one says Ian just gave me his house.”

Ian: 😂😂😂

Also Ian: “Oh well, we can live in together.”

How kind of you, Ian! 🤣🤣🤣

Thankfully you passed (with ease) on Friday afternoon so it won’t be too awkward when your tester moves in 😆

Your Pakenham East drive test was merely a formality for you, Ian.

After all, you’ve been driving overseas for the last 12 years so it’s fair to say you know what you are doing 🙌

Thanks for reaching out when you felt the need leading up to your big day, mate.

Your friendly nature and sense of humour are just the best!

Stay safe.

*** Lovesacanofv (tester) has just finished his pre drive spiel ***

Lovesacanofv: “Do you have any questions, Jordan?”

Jordan: “I don’t.”

Me: “Actually Jordan did have one question, but he wasn’t sure he was allowed to ask.”

Jordan (to himself): “Umm…no I actually didn’t.”

Lovesacanofv: “Sure.”

Me: “He was wondering, does E really equal mc2?”

Jordan (to himself): “What!? Of course it does, everybody knows that! I’m surrounded by idiots!”

Lovesacanofv: “Yes, it does.”

Me: “Thank you.”

Jordan (to himself again): “What is even going on here…?”

And about 30 minutes after that you had discovered (or at least confirmed) that a drive test is about 50 times easier than a physics SAC, Jordan!

✅ Superbly smooth and comfortable car control

✅ Confident and concise lane changes

✅ Perfect gap selection

✅ A1 roundabout work - so perfectly judged (you didn’t trust those indicators 👌)

And the icing on the cake?

✅ Slowing to 40 km/h as you drove past those red and blue flashing police car lights 👌

Congratulations, legend - you made it look ridiculously easy !!!

👏👏👏👏👏👏

I love your calm and level headed approach to things, mate - it’s more than obvious you are as sharp as a tack and a thinker.

All the best with the remainder of year 12.

I’m sure that pragmatic approach of yours will have paid off once again when you check your phone on December 10th at 7am.

Stay safe and take care, Jordan.
