Lots of questions recently about criteria for entering the Red Dust Revival, particularly about painted cars v rust buckets. We cover it in the first newsletter but briefly we want painted cars not cars that look like they've been sitting in a paddock for 50 years. The Red Dust Revival is not a rat rod event. Here's a hand-coloured pic of Ossie Cranston's Ford V8 Special. It was painted in 1936 so we can paint our cars in 2022! He took great pride in presentation. Nostalgia at Perko is not having cars which look like they haven't been looked after. Cars which have a lot of panels of different colours is more like a post-war speedway event. We are recreating an event like it was at lake Perkolilli between 1914 and 1939. People have been placing their pics of cars under construction. We expect that they will arrive with a coat of paint!👍😀
