Res Q Paint is my new business rebranding as I've finished up with rubber flooring and Vortex spray in liners. I'm focussing more on paint repairs to cars, bikes, cycles, kitchens... well almost anything that's painted.

The Toowoomba Hang / Para Gliding Club is a Toowoomba based club consisting of hang glider and paraglider pilots. We are affiliated with the Sports Aviation Federation of Australia (SAFA). We usually only fly on weekends and depending on the weather, we may fly significant distances, usually somewhere between 5-150kms.

We are looking for an aviation minded person living within 50kms of Oakey, who is willing to learn how to operate the club's tow car and winch. This is an exciting challenge for those individuals seeking a unique opportunity, however it also comes with a high responsibility with regards to pilot safety. Our pilots will depend on you to launch them efficiently and safely, they will want you to be vigilant to any hazards and react quickly to emergency situations.

Skills and Experience

Interested applicants will have a :
license, (manual allows more options) however auto is acceptable,
an understanding of glider flight,
able to multi-task,
excellent and clear communication skills,
active and healthy lifestyle,
have a very high regard for safety.

Duties and Responsibilities
The tow driver will assist club members in preparing the tow strip, checking the tow vehicle and completing operational checks on the tow winch. They will assist the pilot with tow line hookup, drive and monitor the tow winch to safely launch the glider, stop the vehicle and operate the winch to retrieve the tow line.
Once the pilot is in the air, he may thermal up and then glide cross country to a predetermined goal. The tow driver may be asked to use a pilot’s vehicle and retrieve the pilot/pilots when they land. Pilots will pay the tow driver for this extra service.
Apart from being an exciting opportunity and adventure, the applicant will receive payment of $100 plus any retrieve payments.

At present we usually tow once per month, but this may increase in frequency.

All tow operations are conducted on private property and full instruction will be given. The successful applicant will be required to contribute to personal insurance with SAFA which we can arrange for you.
