Update on Hannah the Humpy Holden, panel work continues, there has been much sanding and wet rubbing to bring the first coat of Hi-Fill primer back to smooth, pretty happy with the finish so now to add another coat of Hi-Fill and a check coat with another week of block wet and dry rubbing then I think it will be time to strip the panels off and do color inside the doors, jams engine bay, dash and trims then refit, get all gaps right and color for the outside. Seems like one step forwards to steps back but as everyone says it will be worth it with the quality of finish when done! There is a wedding next weekend that will slow proceedings but we will get there

Work progresses on Hannah the Hump Holden, she was stripped of 67 years of built up paint and some minor repairs back to bare metal, then an epoxy primer was applied, any necessary repairs done then another coat of epoxy primer, a light rub then 3 coats of Hi-Fill primer and a check coat, then lots of hand blocking which is where I am at now, once done a further 3 coats of Hi-fill primer another check coat and more rubbing, did I mention how much I like hand rubbing??? Not !!!
Once the second application is done all the bolt on panels need to come off to be painted along with the dash and engine bay. Then refit and gap all panels prior to four coats of two pac topcoat! And people ask why it is taking so long???? So far so good and while it may not be to show quality I reckon for an old bushy it will be alright??

So happy to have Milly our 2008 Cooper Clubman back, after she had new cam shaft sensor and timing chain replacement. She is rejuvenated and back to her zippy self. Cannot recommend Coops Automotive Townsville highly enough

Things have been a bit quite on the car front lately while money is being secured to fund them! Time to get back into Hannah the Humpy,at some stage in her past,someone decided that they would attempt to turn her from a “standard” to a “Special” which included a two tone paint job and the fitting of chrome mouldings to divide these colors. On checking the body number we have found that she is indeed a “Standard” to make matters more complicated not all the chrome mouldings are with her, in particular the ones for around the C pillars, so either try and find and purchase and pay a 💰 kings ransom for the missing parts or weld up the holes and put her back to how she was from the factory in 1955? Decision made, holes have been filled now for some finishing body filler then she is ready for a coat of high fill primer (aka spray putty) a final rub then color!
Parts acquisition is going well, have all chrome body parts, with new bumpers and an original grille, body mouldings, new wiring harness, gearbox, diff, front and rear suspension done, new wheels in place, hubcaps found, all motor parts and machine work done just need to get off my backside and assemble it, carpets, headlining and door cards here, trimmer on standby, progress is being made watch this space

In the last few weeks parts have started to appear! Twin carb setup, extractors, full 12 volt wiring harness, paint is getting very close, a motor trimmer locked in, starting to get exciting
