Harley-Davidson FLH Police Special – Genuine U.S. Pedigree

This FLH Police Special comes with serious history. Originally from Illinois, USA, it’s been stored long-term in my garage and has never been registered or ridden in Australia. A proper head-turner with authentic old-school character.

✔️ Featured in Harley-Davidson Enthusiast Magazine (1994)
✔️ S&S Sports Carb upgrade
✔️ Fresh oils throughout
✔️ Starts easily and runs strong
✔️ Needs minor TLC – indicator buttons/blinkers not working (likely a simple fix)

Letting it go simply because I don’t get the chance to ride it like it deserves. Hoping it goes to someone who truly appreciates these classic Police Specials. Serious buyers only, please.

🚗 Throwback to the legendary Porsche 356! 🏎️😍

Did you know that the Porsche 356 was the first-ever production automobile by Porsche? 🌟 Originally produced by the Austrian company Porsche Konstruktionen GesmbH (1948–1949) and later by the German company Dr. Ing. h. c. F. Porsche GmbH (1950–1965), it marked the beginning of a legacy!

This lightweight, nimble-handling, rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive, two-door sports car was an engineering marvel, which contributed to its outstanding performance on the racetracks and widespread popularity. 🏁

The journey started in 1948 in Gmünd, Austria, where around 50 cars were built before the production moved to Zuffenhausen, Germany, in 1950. 🏭 The 356 continued to win hearts until April 1965, even after the introduction of its successor, the iconic 911, in autumn 1963. 😎

Fun fact: Out of the 76,000 units originally produced, approximately half still survive today! 🌟

The original prices in 1948 were $3,750 for the 356 coupe and $4,250 for the 356 cabriolet. But now, these beauties hold a staggering market value of over $200,000! 💰💸

The Indian Scout is a motorcycle built by the Indian Motocycle Company from 1920 to 1949. It rivaled the Chief as Indian's most important model. The 101 Scout, made from 1928 to 1931, has been called the best motorcycle Indian ever made.

The Scout was introduced in October 1919 as a 1920 model. The Scout had a sidevalve V-twin engine with its transmission bolted to the engine casing, allowing a geared primary drive - the only American v-twin to use this maintenance-free system

The economic hardship of the Great Depression pushed Indian to the brink of bankruptcy, and the company was purchased by the DuPont family. In 1931, it was decided to rationalize production by designing a new frame that, with some detail variations, would be used across their entire, new-for-1932 model range of Scout, Chief and Four. Thus the 101 Scout was discontinued.

How to Restore a Classic Car on a Budget

Learning how to restore a classic car only requires a few simple steps, but implementing them will take time and budgeting. Time is an important factor in full restoration projects since it can take around 1,000 hours to fully restore a classic car. You're going to need a lot of parts which won't always be easy to find and will cost significant sums of money. However, there are ways to accomplish the task without breaking the bank.

Finding Your Car!
First of all, you need a vehicle to restore. You can cut down on the amount of work and money you need to spend on the restoration by buying a classic car that's already partially restored, or a project that someone hasn't had the time or money to finish. However, you will pay more upfront for this. Alternatively, you can scout around for a complete project that will need a lot of work but which won't cost you much on an initial basis. Talk to other classic car enthusiasts who may be aware of a potential project, look at magazines and check any online ads. Don't be in a hurry to make a choice. The more work you have to do, the longer it will take and the more you'll spend on parts.

Finding Parts!
You need a number of replacement parts when you restore a classic car. If you're lucky, you will be able to salvage some of the parts already on the car and in the engine. However, there will still be a lot of items that you'll need to buy.
Contact vehicle salvage centers in your area to see if they have a similar vehicle. If so, find out what parts are available. This will be the cheapest route. Also, check online to see if anyone is parting out a similar vehicle for spares or repairs. This can be a good source of cheap parts.
You can also find a wide range of cheap parts online. The best places are through online car collector groups, where members offer parts for sale.

Restoring Your Car!
The only way to restore a classic car on a budget is to do the work yourself. That means you need a place to do the work, such as a garage, where the vehicle is shielded from the weather. You also need a full range of auto tools, the owner's manual and plenty of experience. Talk to friends or other enthusiasts who have restoration experience and might be willing to help or teach you.

Undertake as much of the bodywork yourself as possible. How much you need to do obviously depends on the condition of the car, but there will certainly be some cosmetic work involved. Keep money aside for a professional paint job to finish the vehicle, although you can do the priming of the body yourself. This will save on the overall paint costs.
Expect to take about a year to restore a classic car. Don't try and rush the project. Always take time to locate the cheapest sources for parts before you buy and do as much of the work as you possibly can yourself.

Motorcycles are more than just transportation. They are a joy to to ride—to lean through curvy highways and open up the throttle on open roads—and they are an extension of your personal style.

This is especially true when you're talking about vintage bikes. Ride one down the street and all heads turn, nodding in approval. There are plenty of fast, beautiful, timeless two-wheelers on the road, but few are as stylish, iconic, and fun to ride as the five listed here.

Just make sure to have a good mechanic on the speed dial—old bikes need a good bit of TLC.

What is the best thing about driving a classic-car?

First and foremost, they are a big attention getter. Nothing quite like a classic vehicle says "hey look at me". So it is a real treat when someone admires your car. "Hey wow man I really love your car" or "that's a really cool motorcycle how long have you had it".

The knucklehead is so named because of the distinct shape of the rocker boxes. It was the third basic type of V-Twin engine used by Harley-Davidson, replacing the Flathead-engined VL model in 1936 as HD's top-of-the-line model. The engine was manufactured until 1947 and was replaced by the Panhead engine in 1948. The knucklehead engine valve covers have contours resembling knuckles on a person's fist that give the knucklehead its name.
