Storing the old farm tractor out in the paddock makes for a great nesting ground for unwelcome vermin 🐀 They can cause numerous problems chewing through wires, fuel lines, hydraulic soft lines and anything they can insulate there nest with leaving this tractor with a bunch of new issues that were not there prior to late use.🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️🔧🐀🐀

Make sure when you do store your machinery for long periods of time that you take the time to leave some traps and/or rat poison ☠️ to prevent your machinery from being eaten.

Now there is a bit of work ahead of the PlantTech Mechanics team to get this thing up and running again. 🚜

The operator of this Cormidi C6.60 moved near 48 tons of dirt from the back of a property to the front to then be loaded into a truck and dog to be brought away in just two days. When asked “why didn’t you use a bigger machine” ? He said there was only a 1050mm gab between the house and the fence. So because of all this back and forth he thought it would be a good idea to have it serviced before it’s off to the next job site.

The importance of preventative maintenance can not be stressed enough when it comes to your machinery. This is the perfect example of what happens when the basic task of greasing is neglected. What could have been prevented has now become a reality for this poor machine. Due to a lack of grease the transmission input shaft uni failed causing irreparable damage to the transmission input shaft. The only option in this case was to strip the machine and have this shaft replaced. I can guarantee this machine will be regularly greased from now on.
