Equiload, this was a step forward in truck design for Morris Commercial. Many of you have maybe heard the term, but don't know what this was... so yes, I'm gonna' learn you 🤣.
Previous to the CV and LC models was the C type. Traditional Long bonnet housing a 4 or 6 cylinder engine with wheels nearly placed at the front of the chassis. This placed the Cabin a fair way back meaning the load was placed closer to the rear wheels with far less load distribution on the front axle.
With CV the designers virtually slid the cabin forward along the chassis pushing the engine, grille out past the front axle by a fair bit then placed a bumper in front. The front axle now under the engine, cabin a foot & a half forward and the load now further forward towards the front axle and creating more load area with a longer deck all on the same length chassis. The weight distribution well placed between the axles, and load equalled and braking duties spread better between front and back. Equi-load.
The Rootes group at the same time run with a similar name which stuck for 15 years on all it's normal Control trucks, do you know what they were called?
Pictured below, is the first Morris Commercial to use this name, it also encompassed the light duty LC, LCS, LC3 models.
