🔧 AUDI SQ5 – BATTERY DRAIN DIAGNOSIS & MMI REPAIR 🔧
This Audi SQ5 came in with a battery drain issue, causing the battery to discharge while the vehicle was parked.
🔍 After electrical testing and diagnosis, we traced the excessive current draw to the MMI infotainment system.
⚠️ Fault found:
The MMI unit was not entering sleep mode / powering down correctly, remaining active after the vehicle was switched off and creating a continuous battery drain.
🛠️ REPAIR COMPLETED
✅ Parasitic battery drain diagnosed
✅ Faulty MMI unit identified
✅ MMI unit removed and replaced
✅ Replacement unit coded and configured to the vehicle
✅ Component Protection removed/adapted
✅ System tested for correct operation
✅ Vehicle sleep/power-down operation verified
Modern Audi vehicles use a sophisticated Component Protection system, meaning replacement electronic modules cannot simply be plugged in and expected to operate normally. Correct coding, configuration and adaptation are required to integrate the replacement module with the vehicle.
