Well, That’s the season done and dusted.

Finished off the year after an unfortunate incident sending us to the rear before driving up to 12th in the B main, far short on where I know we should be but it’s been the tale of our week.

Where does that leave us I’m not entirely sure, it was a boy hood dream for me to race speedway in some sort of facet and this season I lived out that dream.

Racing speedway is incredibly consuming, both with time and money and with only myself and dad funding this ordeal it’s not sustainable forever.

At this point we will look to run a scaled back schedule next season but there is every possibility that tonight was it, over the next few months we will evaluate and see what our plans look like.

If it is it I want to say thankyou to everyone that has come down to support me, speedway brings family’s and friends together and the nights at the track are ones I’ll never forget.

Thankyou to my wife who not only supported me doing this but now has a real love for the sport I grew up watching, we have created forever memories with Luka along for the ride and I appreciate everything you have sacrificed for me to live out a dream.

Thanks to Dad who has helped out with long hours in the shed and a chunk of the financials that come along with racing, it’s always been a dream of ours to race speedway in some form and we lived out that dream together, that I’m forever grateful for.

Nathan, my best mate who I met through sim racing and became best mates with at the track, I really do appreciate the travel and effort you went through to help out each and every night we went to the track be it Wednesday night practice or race nights.

The list goes on and on, nan and pop for there support, the friendships in the pits, Brady for the trips to Perth to help out from Queensland, The DWT crew that come and support each and every night, there’s so many more people that have showed support or helped us in some sort of way I appreciate it all.

Hopefully this isn’t the end but if it is thankyou to everyone that has made this journey one I won’t ever forget and one thing you can count on is there will be a day Luka lives out the same dream I will make sure of it.

Night 1 of the WA title

Heat 1 P2- P7
Heat 2 P9-P9

Struggled all night with car setup so we threw a lot at it for the feature where we went P17 battling for a top 10 but dropped a few spots on the last lap to finish 13th.

We finally got the car in the window for the prelim so we will carry that forward into night 2.

We have dug ourselves a big hole but I am confident we can race our way into the show.

Time to do it 1 last time for the season.

Another tough night

Waiting for this slump to end, we have worked so hard to get the car ready each and every night to have little things cost us,

Tonight we had a wheel come loose and eventually fall off in qualifying, putting us out of 10 in the heat.

The heat we made it out with seconds to spare and ran 8th.

Starting p15 in the LCQ we knew we had very little chance of making the show with so many good cars on a hooked up track so we just used it as a shake down to hopefully have a decent crack at the state title this weekend.

We know we are not running where we know we can and little things are costing us but it’s not through lack of effort, it’s gutting to have such a horrible run this last week but we have 1 more shot this weekend at the state title and will throw everything at it to show the speed we know we have.

Not the Aussie title we wanted.

Night 1 we struggled all night with the same issue as last week and dug ourselves a massive hole.

After a massive morning diagnosing and replacing parts we were hopeful we found the issue.

Night 2 we made the decision to save our new tyres and run some older stuff and focus more on getting the car to do a whole night to really give next week a good crack.

We achieved this and think we have solved our issues, now we can positively look towards next Wednesday, Friday and Saturday night.

Super bummed but feeling good going into next week.

Massive thankyou to everyone that helped get us to the title, everyone that came down to support and everyone in my crew that worked so hard to make each night when we could have easily pulled the pin.

What a week it’s been

It’s amazing we even made it tonight to give the car a shake down before Friday night.

Multiple mid nighters in the shed getting the motor sorted we literally did our maintenance in the car park today before rolling in for practice, the car wasn’t even cleaned.

We did 2 moderate runs tonight just to make sure the engine is all good to go, nothing special but the car feels good and motor ran well.

It has been a massive effort these last few days but a big thanks goes to Josh for helping us get the required fab work done yesterday, Jono from Clifton auto electrics for all the wiring work and dad for the hours put in to get us to the title.

Wash day tomorrow before scrutineering and the Calcutta before having a crack at our first Aussie title come Friday.

Not what you want to be doing title week, We have hurt a motor Friday night so we need to pull it out, long week ahead.

Last night we ran the fast Friday final.

Heat 1 we went 6-2 (started 4th)
Heat 5 we went 5-5, passed for the lead but the caution came out so went back to 2nd, passing for the lead again after the restart and encountered some fuel issues.

Had we got the win in our second heat this would of put us off the front 2 rows for the feature instead with the issue we started 12th and unfortunately our issues continued so I pulled it in to save any potential damage.

The car is super fast at the moment and capable of running at the pointy end, we will get to work to solve this problem and be ready for the Australian title next week.
