🚐 Workshop Highlights – Repairs & Innovations! 🔧
This week, we tackled some big jobs in the workshop! Here’s what we’ve been up to:
🔹 Jayco Motorhome Roof Repair
A full roof replacement would have meant removing the entire internal fit out—an extreme cost that few are willing to take on. Instead, we repaired what we could:
✅ Treated rust & replaced hatches
✅ Applied a high-quality silicone-based waterproof coating
✅ Used a creative method involving riv nuts & rods to lift a severely dented roof back into place, then reinforced it with expanding foam to prevent future sagging
🔹 Oven Out, Dishwasher In!
A customer had a unique request: remove their oven and install a portable dishwasher. Challenge accepted! It was a tight fit, but the result? A fully functional dishwasher in a motorhome—who knew?
🔹 MDC Camper Suspension Overhaul
This camper was purchased just 1,000km ago under the impression that major suspension work had already been done. What we found:
⚠️ 20mm play in suspension bushes
⚠️ Bearings worn past their serviceable life
⚠️ Faulty tail lights & missing suspension components
⚠️ Delaminating, contaminated brake shoes & a loose McHitch
We replaced all worn components, torqued everything to spec, and prepped it for a wheel alignment—now it’s ready for adventure!
