"Mirrors play very important role while Driving" and can be a significant factor for your and other road user's safety. It is also important to check mirrors during the Drive Test and can affect your scores.

When to check the mirrors ?

1-Centre/Interior mirror (before braking).
2-Centre mirror and right/left mirror before signal.
3-Centre mirror (after completing a manoeuvre and after turning into new street.
4- Centre mirror before moving off from a stationary position.
5- Centre mirror and right mirror followed by head check.

We are all busy.
Guilty perhaps that our minds are constantly racing while we’re driving.

What’s for dinner?
Have I fed the dog?
Did I lock the front door?
What time is my meeting today?
I need to pick up the kids.
Did I remember to send that email?
And the list goes on…

Here lay the problem.
Driving is not the place to be thinking about everything else happening in your life.
When you are behind the wheel, you are operating a loaded weapon.
Your vehicle can weigh well over a tonne and can cause catastrophic injury or death in less than a second.

You might be physically looking at the road, but if your mind is somewhere else, are you really seeing what is happening in front of you?
That moment of distraction could mean missing a pedestrian stepping onto the road, a car braking suddenly, a motorcyclist in your blind spot, a child running onto the road or a vehicle approaching an intersection.

You don't get to rewind those seconds.
You don't get a second chance to react.
And the consequences of one moment of inattention can stay with you, your family and another family for the rest of your lives.
So when you start the engine, give driving your full attention.
The dinner can wait.
The meeting can wait.
The phone can wait.
Whatever is happening inside your head can wait.

Our number one priority is to arrive at our destination safely.

Next time you get behind the wheel, ask yourself…
“Am I actually focused on driving?”

Start with quiet roundabouts. Always slow down approaching a roundabout (near dotted lines), it helps you observe better and, as it is a giveway, you have to check for any traffic already inside the roundabout. Check and enter if it is safe.
